It doesn't matter what they've done this year, it's what they're doing at this tournament that counts. If you think that Alli has been as bad as Sterling, i'd disagree.

Then we will disagree as Sterling was one of the standouts in the first half against Russia. Alli has been as useful for England as a Gelson Fernandes defensive shield.

Your argument doesn't make sense to me. You implied Kane had an excuse because he wasn't provided with chances, Sterling was shit because he didn't provide Kane with those chances, a number of other players should have been providing him with chances, none of them did but it is only Sterling who shoulders the blame? I promise you I do not have blue tinted specs on here because I am not saying Sterling has played particularly well, that isn't remotely my point. I just hate the fact that in both matches several players have been poor but Sterling shoulders all responsibility for all failings. Not buying into the mass hate of a City player does not mean I'm wearing blue tinted spectacles. I am telling you now, Kane misses that Sterling chance today Shearer would have said that he'd done well to get into that position or if he keeps on doing that the goals will eventually come or he's just finding his range or some other shit. It is not my imagination, one is the media golden boy the other is the media hate figure because he dared to leave Liverpool to join "money bags" City. And then 10 million sheep regurgitate the drivel they have heard from twats like Shearer.

The fact that we were only marginally better says more about Hodgson than anything else. His apparent adoration for Shrek is as embarrassing as it is futile; he's had his day, let him go, and blood some one else in. Someone who isn't going to spend pretty much the entire first half passing sideways.
Kane has been a flop so far this tournament, but then so has Sterling. In fact, given we've played a couple of extremely mediocre teams thus far, nobody in the England team has done themselves any great favours.

Well there you go. He did a great job getting back to help Rose in the first match and his replacement on that side fucked up twice in the build up the Russia's goal. Also, in the first half he did relatively well, combining well with Rose going forward and they caused Russia quite a few problems, certainly more than Alli did. And Kane's movement particularly v Russia was so poor fucking Maradonna would have struggled to provide him with a chance. But still Sterling is shit and he cost England the win v Russia...

Alli didn't hide though, i felt Kane and Sterling did. They both kept getting in positions they couldn't be passed the ball in, Kane moreso.

The shit players get when they're shit doesn't bother me, even if others were worse, so what? It's when it's unjustified that it gets on my nerves. Shearer doesn't even know when to use "done" and "did" correctly though so i wouldn't care if he was sat there in full City kit with Sterling on the back and Sterling tattood on himself - he can't even talk proper so his opinion means nothing!
