Don't be a twat you know that I am talking about the relentless scapegoating of Sterling for England, not just about today but literally EVERY time he plays for England. He assisted two goals in one of the warm up matches and all I read afterwards was that his end product was poor. You say he offers nothing defensively, that's bullshit, he works hard to help his full back when he needs to. You don't see it because you don't want to. As for today, he was poor, so were a few others in that first half, only one got specifically called out on his performance on TV. You say "Alli was poor today as well is not a great defence", well it is very relevant to my point which is that Sterling is a scapegoat and other players don't get criticised equally when they don't play well. Other players not getting relentless shit when they don't perform is the exact point that I'm making.
Fully agree. Sadly Sterling missed our best chance in the first half but he created the second best chance. He struggled but defensively he was sound. On one occasion very hard and sprinting back to win it.
Yes he was poor, Kane was non existent, so I'm not sure where he's supposed to pass it if the striker is offering nothing.
Ali was poor first half. Rooney was terrible. But the studio guests were no doubt drooling over his face high drilled balls to isolated men on the touch line conceding possession numerous times.
Yes, Sterling struggled, but he's going to if the striker is out of sorts, the number ten is off his game and the midfield 'linchpin' is just looking for Hollywood balls.
I think Sterling gets terrible press. Why not team him with Sturidge who he had a great relationship with?
We won't see him again now, they'll be a media hyped surge for Rashford to play as he took someone on and found no one. The same thing Sterling is vilified for.
Sterling is obviously the hate figure. Shearer starting with a rant at ht about Sterling was disgusting, it was Hart's fault we were losing. Slag him, slag Rooney. They won't. Blame it on the guy who missed the best chance, if it were Kane or Rooney they'd have praised the fun, the movement, the ability to beat the man to the ball. Not Sterling.
Our players see to be pretty unpopular amongst our media. Silva was excellent the other day, ran the game for Spain, along with Iniesta, was he mentioned? No. Iniesta was fair enough, they went on to name how many great alternatives they have, how many they've had in the past. Totally ignoring Silva and his 100 caps.
If we sign Sane, he could score three in the final, they wouldn't say how exciting a signing he was, they'd call him an expensive gamble in the Prem.
Sterling is treated like shit. I really hopes he Rams it down their throats. Sadly I don't see him kicking a ball again till he's back in blue.
