England vs Wales - Euro 2016 - 16/06/16

i agree, Walker frightened the shit out of me every time he had the ball, i was shouting at my PC for england not to pass it too him!

Headline on FRONT page of the Times: "England's glory boys".

I wonder whether that would have beaten the headline had City scored an injury-time winner against, say, Barnsley in a Cup-tie.

"Unconvincing City labour to scrappy victory over plucky underdogs", or "Lucky City scrape home".

The media's hysterical hype about England contrasts starkly with their comments about club football.

Nah, England just aren't good enough. They just haven't got the players.
Actually I think this is the most talented side England have fielded in 8 years or so; not as talented as France, Germany or (on paper at least) Belgium and maybe Spain, but with some luck, could win it all.

Greece won it with a poor team.

Seen some good performances, but what's more notable is how little nations like Albania have come on a ton. I think Albania are on nil points but they were really good against France.

Most of the traditional top teams have got weaknesses: Germany, Spain and France look short up front. Belgium not playing like a team. Italy put in the best performance so far I think.

Not being biased but I thought Walker was MOTM. He plays just like he does for Spurs without any fear and always willing to get forwards. I still don't trust him 100% defensively but you could say that about all of England's defence. His game has improved dramatically under Ponch. I think Kane is burnt out and I'm not sure what's up with Sterling but both will be lucky to start next game. It's still a good win but we needed a last minute goal to beat Wales. We have to step it up a bit more if we make the knockout stages

He was very good. My worry with him is his defending. That aspect of his game will come under the microscope when we play a better team than Wales.

I'm not just England bashing though. We've been piss poor against two truly dreadful teams. I'm going to state the obvious, but the likes of Germany, Spain and even a "shit" Italy side would just pass this England team to death. If City played like England did tonight we'd rightly be fearing the worst. We were terrible.

We haven't been 'piss poor' though. We've played reasonably well in both games.

I don't recall Germany 'passing us to death' last time we played them and for all their possession, Spain were a couple of minutes away from drawing 0-0 with the Czechs.
