England winning the W Cup or City winning the CL. Which would you take?

I’m a Mancunian first. A person’s locality and their city should be more important to them than their country. It’s natural. It’s what you live and breath every day. And the football club from their city should be more important to someone than their nation’s football representative team.

That’s why I’ll never understand how ‘fans’ from places like the US can pick to support a Premier League team. I find it more odd that a Yank (or anyone from any country) would say “I’m a proud Bostonian but I’m a Manchester City fan” than one saying “I’m a proud American but I support England”

Well... it's like this.

Watch the local Boston team play - or honestly any other US side.

And then watch the Premiere League.

It's night and day - dismal, slow, boring football from MLS - exciting, riveting football in the PL. After watching the PL I cannot stand to watch MLS and could thus care less about how my home team fares.

Absolute no brainer, I’d rather City won a domestic cup than England winning the World Cup, like to see the England team doing well but my loyalty can only lie with City.

If England win the World Cup no doubt the players would get a knighthood,I could live with Sir Raheem,but the thought of Sir Phil the face and Sir Jesse, give me City winning the Champions league first.

Not even close. Came through the other night when watching the penalties, wasn't even remotely nervous, whereas had that have been City in the Champs League final....................bad enough v Gillingham!

One thing I always think though, is that you never get any of the players with a City t-shirt or City flag on show when they’re celebrating a World Cup or Euros or Copa America win with their country but they always bring something about their country out when they win something with City.

It’s clear to see what’s more important to the players.

I think even though it’s more important to me that City are successful, I do think it’s a bigger thing to win the WC and the Euros at international level than winning the Champions League or domestic trophies at club level for the players.
