Vicki Kloss is an ex-cop, I doubt that she's nice and polite when provoked! Anyhow it's far too simplistic to blame the PR operation, I'm sure they take their cue from higher-up.
Maybe she left as she did not have that nasty edge? not saying she did but it is as reasonable to assume that as it is that she is a hard ass. Beyond that though i agree that is to simplistic, however my angle is more human than business. These guys are ladish and live in that world and a saying that i always remember is 'a person is clever, people are stupid'. So think of their dynamic, they meet up after a weekend just like school never ended and the banter flows, lad culture kicks in. Now they get nice food and a very agreeable Vicky Kloss telling them to be good. I am not kidding now that would be bait to be a naughty boy and see if i could have my wicked way with her in the server room after getting a telling off. If you think they are more professional then you give them far to much credit. That is a very crude picture i paint but the core of it is achingly easy to believe. no i am not falling in the trap of going for it because it is obvious to me but because of what i know about people really.
Now the above all sounds stupid on the simplistic face of it i fully agree. However men are stupid in these situations and their mind is on bragging to their bretheren how they would smash her back doors in. A stern bloke with nothing but focused authority would not promote the lad mentality, he would give the aura of fair guy but not here to be the focal point of any lad chatter...i would hope.
The current setup has had long enough to either bring the press to heel or kill them with kindness, it has not worked. Another vector of approach is not an unreasonable suggestion. I would write a letter to all written press along the lines of...
Dear Shitbag ****yface,
If you ****s want to play coy and innocent; obfuscate when we pull you up after not giving us a fair crack of the whip then fuck yourselves. Print that as it is the last communication you will get from a Manchester City employee beyond being asked to leave the premises. People want to read about the club and in our view the far to often negative tones could be positive and generate at least as much revenue for yourselves.
Kind Regards,
Guido The Great
Manchester City Anti **** Division
I will even give them an idea for free now... have a column of 'young player of the week' with a qr code beneath the article that will bring up a youtube montage or similar. Not saying it will save papers but it is better than them carrying on with a failing model thinking venom laced articles will somehow start to save them.
