Eric Ten Hag

I think he could be an excellent appointment for them as long as the club and more importantly the fans give him a minimum of 5 years before they expect any results by way of silverware.
They need at least 6 top drawer players to mount any sort of serious challenge and the players they buy need to fit into a way of playing set out by the manager. Every club will be out to rinse them with transfer fees and if they miss out on the CL football all the better. It's easy to forget the players who are likely to leave this summer. While they are not all first choices they all will need to be replaced. They won't replace them over one window and so some will linger like a bad smell or the squad will be weakened significantly.

Pogba
Cavani
Martial
Mata
Rashford?
Ronaldo
Matic
Jones
Bailey
Greenwood.
IF, they clear all on that list they will be significantly better off , that dressing room is poison.

A couple of good transfer windows and they will be up and running and like all big clubs when the momentum starts it takes some stopping.

He has a hell of a job to do, but he takes over a club at rock bottom, so he can call the shots, and if he intends getting rid of Ronaldo from the off, he's off to a flier sadly.

Its going to be interesting to see if they actually give this guy the scope to sort the dressing room out. If there isn't a pretty big clearout over summer we'll know thats its going to go just the same as the last few poor sods that accepted the poison chalice.

Its worth noting that they can't all be the clueless gimps that they appear, Van Gaal & Jose both overachieved with them. Moyes is starting to show what he's really about at West Ham. OGS was just nonsense and Ralph... who knows really... he's got no power so its hard to say if he's actually any good or not.

Anyway, lets hope they keep shooting themselves in the foot...

Think it will take 2 or 3 summers to build a squad Ten Hag can work with. If they give him that he'll do a good job, if they don't then he won't.
