I had one of those moments yesterday which I'll report but needs to be taken in the spirit of the thread and all transfer rumour/speculation/chinese whispers.

I was chatting to a guy who knows two of the club's ex-directors and he claims he's been told this is now "a done deal".

tbh, i have never understood the animosity and finger-pointing that is endemic to this thread. Pep himself would be scorned by some, no doubt.
Any transfer can founder at the last minute, Kaka's was all but done, no doubt others have too. The poster from Abu Dhabi got absolute dogs on here for posting in good faith.... FFS.

Perhaps that's because NO DEAL is done until the player signs on the dotted lines and hold up a jersey.

Everything else, even if it's from Txiki directly, is just speculative.

If Dani Alves, a Pep disciple who spoke to Pep and was apparently on the way to the airport to board a flight to Manchester can change his mind and go join PSG last second, then nothing, I repeat NOTHING is done until he signs the dotted lines.

exactly my thoughts, we have a highly integrated squad playing exquisite football, getting results and scoring plenty of goals and barely conceding, at a stage of the season we normally kick on. However, there is nothing and no-one that cannot be improved... so let's see

There are 2 relevant questions when it comes to transfers in my opinion:

1. Are we interested in the player?
2. Has he signed.

ITKs are helpful with 1. No one is with 2.

I think it's pretty safe to say we all know what the answer to 1 is at this point. And it's pointless pontificating about 2.

There is another question though I think 2a) Is the player interested in joining us. ITK‘s are useful for 2 and 2a).
