Erling Haaland

Oh don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's a no from me, just think a few people getting overexcited thinking it's in the bag. We won't know until he jumps whether his priority is the bigger pay cheque (probably United) or the bigger chance of glory (probably City).

I think there is logic in that, but it is entirely predicated on the assumption we won't be offering as much as others, or that we'll offer significantly less. Which, is fair based on our general transfers, but we've most often had the players wanting to join us first, and it really then was between us and the selling club to agree, we've never really been drawn into bidding wars as such, not in a good few years.

Gut says we probably wouldn't at any point, but wouldn't rule out it either for top players in their prime (form and age).

How far we'll go, time will tell.

Whilst I agree Adrian Durham is a complete wind up merchant I do think we have to be wary of the relationship between soljksaer and Haaland. Personaly I’d be very surprised if we managed to get the deal done (mainly due to the money United will throw his dad and agents way) but whatever happens I fully trust the club to get a viable alternative

It would be an even bigger psychological blow if it reinforces a team that are Champions of England and Europe this summer.

The spittle of 'It's not fair", "City are ruining football", "City paying £10m a week to two players", that's what I want.

I want heads on spikes. They tried to end our entire club last summer.

Now we must end them.
Wow tolmie - that is one hell of a post. Super greatissimo stuff!

Thing is, we should all be used to it by now.

Our biggest opponent, one we will never win against, is denial, rooted in confirmation bias?

First it was Sheikh Mansour would get bored.

Then they said money can't buy success (always a classic).

Then they said Pep would never consider coming to City.

Then it was Pep won't stay more than a couple of seasons, his mental state and demands would be too much.

Then it was City will be done by FFP and already guilty at CAS.

So why would Messi and Haaland choose City this summer?

The answers are all of the above, the mindset of the UK media and that of rival fans is one only founded in partisan allegiances, a sense of entitlement.

You think the penny would have dropped by now...
Yeah, but you'll never win anything in England playing tiki taka and Haaland and .... whoops will never play ...

Bet you can’t find an 80s song on YouTube for that.......

Just suppose Messi signed for us or made it known that is where he was going, what a incentive for Haaland to join as well and play alongside one of the all time greats. The meltdown across Europe would be sensational.
I would think Alfie & Riaola already know that if Messi was done to us

Kev not signing yet tells a story imo

A bit against the grain here but the presence of Raiola in this picture, even if Alfie is in the driving seat, is a big signal to me that money is the priority. Maybe not the only one but certainly the top one.

Why would you turn to Mino Raiola to be your agent? Because he has a reputation for being tough and sticking up for his client's interests no matter what, because he has a reputation for drumming up a bidding war like no other. Bottom line = money.

Alfie's career was cut short by injury, the family know more than most that this circus could all end tomorrow.

EBH is talking a good game about wanting to take on Mbappe for ten years to be the top player on the planet. He may well feel that way, but that's what I'd be saying too, if I wanted to inspire FOMO among all the clubs looking at me. Don't think of me like you do Werner or Martinez, think of me like Messi, Ronaldo and Mbappe.

Actions speak louder than words, so I think it's more likely that the highest bidder will win than anything else.

I'm sure we can put a competitive offer on the table but we all know that that lot over the road have shown themselves prepared to near bankrupt themselves just to stop City closing a deal (a fat lot of good it's done them too). Ed Woodward is susceptible to 'shiny new toy syndrome'. Raiola has also made a pretty penny from all his dealings with them.

Be wary of confirmation bias building your hopes up.
Haaland & his team will pick up at least 3 big deals dont see any problems,
