Erling Haaland

Mino wants an auction, so it's probably good PR for all big clubs to say they are in for him regardless of whether they realistically can do it. Barca are pushing it hard right now, and financially they can not do this deal. But it makes their fans feel good, and makes them renew season tickets for a year likely spent in the conference league so its win win. Ditto liverpool. They are ooohing and aaahing over renewing Salah on big wages without a fee, so they will never do a deal like this, but its good PR to say ur involved.
And it pushes the price up for everybody else

why else do you think they are pretending to be interested

Papers claiming Liverpool in for him. Find that hard to believe.
Wouldn’t bother me if he went to utd but I don’t believe that either. They need far more than him.
Real Madrid, again who cares?
Want him here though

Is this the same Liverpool who are out robbing old ladies every day so they can afford Salah’s wage demands?

It is quite evident that Madrid will be our main rivals in the transfer of Haaland. I hope like yourself that the main determining factor is football and having the chance to work with Pep and not how much money he can make/earn.

Currently City are a better team than Madrid imo and the opportunity to play in the PL may also appeal to Haaland. I am also hopeful that Alfie would have more than a good word to say about City.

On saying all the above, Real still have a big appeal to a lot of players, so the transfer is in the balance and I am sure there will be plenty of twists and turns to come.
That will also depend on the destination of Raiola's other love child, Pogbad. There is talk it may well be Madrid (hopefully), and I doubt they could afford the wages of all three.

I think people are losing patience for no good reason. we're not in a massive rush for a striker, are we? I think we can allow ourselves to negotiate. if we waited until August 23rd for fucking harry kane, why can't we wait for haaland?

Fear of missing out while links to other 'bidders' increase and they have a chance to shift deadwood and get in the race probably.

Nobody else wanted Kane… everyone wants Haaland!

I get what you’re saying though.

@tolmie's hairdoo sure mate, but I think he already has demonstrated he made a footballing decision for his development by joining Dortmund.

I live in Germany and having visited Dortmund many times due to work and seeing Clients, I can categorically confirm Dortmund is a shit hole.
It is ugly as hell, full of industrial parks and factories, the town center ain’t Preety at all and nightlife is fuck all. In comparison having also lived in London and having visited Manchester on many occasions I had a much better night out in Manchester than Dortmund.

people around there work for the big industrial companies and have the big Stadium and the football team as an outlet for “entertainment”.

Not being harsh on Dortmund, just stating facts. ;)

so don’t sell Manchester short ;)
I like all blues hope he demonstrates again a decision based on football development and next step rather than just weather. I mean he comes from a country where it is dark/night 6months of the bloody year lol, so he doesn’t need the sunshine like our Iberian players do.

Well City are currently the pinnacle of football, but I know what you are saying.

People don't factor in that a player of elite standing can get paid well anywhere.

They also factor in the lifestyle factor, the weather, historical prestige, the culture, etc.

Manchester has City and that's about it for me, personally.

It's why I marvel at some people like Sergio, Dave and Pep, they stick around despite the obvious ability to work anywhere.

They develop a love, but you still have to get them in the door first.

The main thing in City's favour is his age. From a footballing ambition, he can do five years with us and still get his move to Spain when he hits his peak years, if that is indeed where he wants to play.

No losers in that regards. I've said before, six year contract, spread the cost, an agreement to extend or sell in year five.

We easily get our money back and some.
