Erling Haaland

He isn’t mate . He scored a great goal today but he is not on our level im afraid . 1st goal in 35 attempts says he needs to go

Gabriel Jesus is around the team for more than just scoring, although I think he really wanted to win today, so made a couple of regressive errors, i.e., previous types of decision making.

Before coming back into the team pre-injury, he'd started being a team player and making the right decision in squaring the ball for a better placed team mate.

A shame he returned to that, really.

Need another along with Haaland.

The drop off from if we rest Haaland would be enormous.

Would Alverez be that striker?
Let's just get Haaland first

Delap could be an option on the bench along with Alvarez?

Yeah I think if we pick up Haaland we’ve got a great balance.

Haaland for our strongest XI with a slight style shift to accommodate a true goalscoring #9, with Alvarez and Delap in reserve.

If Haaland is unavailable or we just want to revert to a false 9 for a specific game, we’ll have the current lads plus Alvarez.

Haaland and Alvarez are enough for incomings up top imo.

This lad and a replacement for Dinho and Sterling.

Anything else cab be covered by the brilliance in the academy,hopefully.....

Though he looks like the world's best prospect, so did Sancho.
It is a long way from being a potential transfer to being part of the strongest XI and a massive drop-off when he doesn't play. I am excited by Haaland's potential arrival but we will also have, already, one of the best squads in world football and it will be supplemented by the return of Palmer, the development of Delap, the continued excellence of Foden, the integration of Grealish, and so on...

Hot take but I think Sancho could have done well for us

Quite possibly. He is a talent but my point is that it can take several seasons to integrate. In his case, he is part of a mess. In our case, Haaland (should he come) will enter a possession-based team that does not play on the counter and faces deep-lying packed defences in nearly every game; it will be a challenge and not a given that he is immediately a success. He is probably as sure a possible success as there is though.

The worrying thing about this thread is that it is very similar to the thread on RagCafe when, six weeks after he had joined us, the Rag hordes were drawing up starting elevens that included David Silva. If Real do owt in the CL this season, like winning it, he'll fuck off there, and miss out on developing under the greatest coach in the land and all the world.

Salzburg was a possession-based team. In fact, often was Dortmund under Lucien Favre
