Erling Haaland

Why are you so sure that Haaland would want to leave in the future when he hasn't even come yet? You could say the same to any of our current players. It's baffling really.
Same assumption that we are planning on signing Haaland and he would be willing to stick around for the long term.

you dont know if that will be the case with Haaland tho ? he isn't any more likely to want to leave than any other player we would sign instead. some players want to stay and become legends (silva, aguero.etc) and some eventually move on (sane).
Agent is the problem and is a very greedy one

History says that we've had only 1 player that wanted to leave against our own wish, Leroy. So yes please disregard all of the players that didn't want to leave by all means.

Haaland has grown up in England and Norway. Norwegian workplaces/media and schools are obsessed with English football and hardly noone cares about Spanish or Italian football. Playing in England is the highest honour for most Norwegian players. Could be to our advantage .

They might not insert a release clause but Raiola would be looking to move Haaland on after a couple of years.
This is a often repeated lie that's increasingly grating in this thread. It's nonsense.

Raiola gets his players a move when they want to move. If they don't want to move they will stay put. Verratti has been at PSG for nearly 10 years. Nedved never moved from Juventus. 5 years since Donnarumma signed with Raiola and the world said he would be gone in a year, he's still there, he's got no interest in leaving.

Pogba's not going anywhere soon heading into his 6th year at United.

Raiola gets onto young players heading to the top and he knows how to get them a few good stepping stones on the way. Once they're at the top, at a club they like, they aren't going anywhere.

the various problems with Ibrahimovic

What problems were there with Ibrahimovic?

No one was upset by him leaving Ajax for Inter.
Inter willingly sold him to Barcelona in return for Eto'o.
Barcelona/Pep sold him to Milan even though he wanted to stay.
Milan told him they wanted to keep him but PSG were offering so much money...
PSG let him go.

The only time he fell out with a club was when he refused to got to Serie B with Juventus after their cheating scandal, and they got a fair price for him in understandable circumstances.

You need to stop regurgitating the myths around Mino Raiola. Yes he's a bit abrasive, yes, he and Pep don't love each other, but business is business and an agent doesn't have half the power you think he does.

Mino is not a easy man to deal with. He charges a lot of money from clubs and doesn't hesitate to slander the club/manager in media if his players don't get their way.. Jorge Mendes is far ahead and more professional than mino. Recent Example , he helped us sell otamendi convinced him to join benfica and get Dias to city from benfica. Anyway We will see how this plays out.

I hope this is bullshit because I'd like to think that we'd still make the effort to sign him, even if we later call it off because the fees get out of hand. The idea of Txiki letting the opportunity pass simply because he doesn't want to deal with Raiola is pretty pathetic.
