They are really getting to be a good thing now. Just did one today for my birthday and it was a darkness challenge. The only thing that was over and above ones I have done before is that they had interactive jump scares going on, when you are deep in thought trying to solve a puzzle, and then you get hit. :D

Escape rooms are getting pretty awesome now, but what are people's favourite moments?

Okay I give up, what are escape rooms ?
Serious question? Worth every penny. If you haven't done one, then do one.

Generally you have an hour to work your way through 2-3 rooms and get out.

Teams of 4 are optimal. Expect arguments and banter. A few drinks before and a debrief after are also recommended!

We did our first escape room a couple of weeks ago and thought it was brilliant.

At Escape Hunt in the Corn Exhange, we did Eye of the Sun God, which is an Indiana Jones type of thing. Really good production and set and thought we got value for money for our £27 each.

Will definitely be doing another at the same place - think they have about 8 or 9 games to choose from.

It's like paying for a corporate 'team building' exercise IMO.
Aye, if you do it with corporate fuds that mean fuck all to you.

If you do it with your mates or people close to you, it is not.

Well I actually enjoyed the one I did with work more than the one I did with mates to be honest.
With mates I feel like I could be doing a hundred things I'd rather be doing with them. But at work it's probably one of the better things.

Yep, it's the classic work "afternoon out" thing, can't beat a bit of forced fun in work time. Didn't even realise these things were still going, thought the fad had been replaced by padel courts.

I’m old school in that I think doing something like that instead of work is a load of old bollocks. You build team spirit by working with people doing the job you are paid to do.

Makes me laugh when companies moan about all the money they are losing when they shell out so much on work avoidance schemes.

No way. You need to get your closest and best group of friends together, brutally fall out and have the time of your life. If you haven't fallen out with your closest family then you have not had a good time.
