I know this place would be less gloomy if you changed your record.
This place would be less gloomy if our manager got his team to play some football.
You claim to want to give the manager two whole seasons before judging him , yet you constantly slag him off.How does that work?

Mancini's team hasn't managed a single goal against Arsenal, Everton, Spurs or the rags in the league in 8 games.

That's an interesting stat. It does miss out Chelsea, who we've had great success against, but the stat is important and one Mancini must improve on to take us near the top.

I'm amazed people are surprised by that stat tbh. I've tried to stay 'undecided' about Mancini, but sitting there freezing my nads off watching the most boring derby match in living memory has pushed me perilously close to the 'Mancini Is Not The One' camp. People can defend that performance all they want, and if you're happy with that shite then good luck to you, but that type of football is just not for me.

Completely and utterly agree with you in regard to the box to box midfielder but I thought Ya Ya had been signed to fill this role. We all know what role he fulfilled for Barca but he was more box-to-box than that in his earlier days.

If we did buy him to do that, we need to have a rethink because he can't do it for 90 minutes.

I love Johnno but we can't pin our hopes on him so I think Mancini has identified Henderson as the one to fill this gap. Don't let the England game sully your views of him, he's an excellent player.
Yaya's a bit of an odd one for me. His performance against Chelsea was superb yet he hasn't (in my opinion anyway) replicated that. I'm 100% behind him when he plays, I just have some doubts over him. He looks like he's piled on a shit load of weight and looks far from fit? Maybe I'm being hypercritical; I don't know?

He certainly doesn't seem able to do the box to box job for us for 90 mins but I don't know if he was brought in to do that for us. It's so easy to say "we need a young Steven Gerrard type of player" and I promised myself I wouldn't say that as I can't think of any off the top of my head (not seen enough of Henderson to comment), but there, I've broke my promise!

People turned their noses up at the time but Scott Parker would still be doing a decent job for us in that role had we bought him when we were after him.

Massively biased article, based upon truth. Take away the bitter rambling and it gives some good thinking. It's so easy for fans to sit behind mancini's tactics and style because odds are (to them) it's going to succeed and it will prove them right. Sometimes to some fans, head in the sand using the fact that we are 4th is the only way they can deal with it

Please expand....Mancini's team has beaten Chelsea on the last 3 occasions in the league.

Didnt we beat Arsenal at our place last year in the league and cup and draw away?
Hughes was the manager when we beat Arsenal in the league (twice) and the Carling Cup scoring 10 goals in the process. Mancini's team hasn't managed a single goal against Arsenal, Everton, Spurs or the rags in the league in 8 games.

Rather than it being about goals - how many points did Hughes manage against Everton, Spurs, The rags and HULL out of interest>?

-- Fri Nov 19, 2010 2:11 pm --

Nah - you'd only get people going on to complain about the cost of going, the atmosphere, smoking in the toilets, how celebrating 8 goals each game gave you a sort throat and sultanas in the fucking balti pies.

He is saying you are not necessrily behind the club.

To be honest only people of fairly low intelligence tend to make this point.

That you are supposed to somehow be "behind" your club on an internet forum.

Sorry to speak the bleeding obvious (and I am not a Mancini outer) but didn't Milner play the box to box role last season?

If we got parker - we would no doubt put him on the wing.

Maybe Milner will play it once Balo is playing in the front 3?

Shows you what I know; always had Milner down for a winger!

Did you read the rest of my post? You know, the bit you deleted.

And call me stupid all you want (which is so funny coming from the one that gets so upset by "childish" comments), we both know it is not the case and you have yet to answer Fergie sitting on his bench. As I knew you would as your original point about Mancini sitting down is beyond bullshit - as well you know.

-- Fri Nov 19, 2010 2:21 pm --

Even though he didn't play there at Villa? You had some foresight!

The only comment i will make about this article is this, KNEEJERK. It's the same critisism i hear a lot on this board, it's an attempt to undermine the manager and the club. We made a mistake by sacking Hughes and not letting him see out the season, that may of cost us 4th. Whatever you think of Mancini i would suggest we let him finish what he started for good or for bad. In jan Mancini will clear out the dead wood and bring in a bit more class i hope. The end of this season should be evaluation time for Mancini. Until then i suggest we back the boss. By backing Mancini we will see an end to all this negative drivel because journalist's will realise there words are falling on deaf ears
