Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

Would love nothing more than for are support to be like a ranges etc but probably never happen, the cultures not there no more maybe because the club have supressed it. So many factors, a whole stand in a ground 50000+ designated to family’s ffs, any other clubs similar to us do that?. We don’t even have a home end.
Going to the match for me is not just about football but atmosphere aswell, it’s like a chore going at times. Even outside the ground couldn’t look anymore bleak.

when we have atmospheres as bad as wolves it makes me cringe, it’s almost like we’re Leipzig and we came about 5 years ago. Anyway will always love city and the owners know that.

Always amazes me that some adults blame a load of kids at one end of the stadium for their own inability to start a chant. There’s 48,000 of you sat in the other three stands - are you worried all the 8 year olds will beat you up if you make a noise?
Okay mate

When kids are being charged the same , or more, than away fans - including in the 'family' stand - for a game against wolves that's on telly, then there's a big part of the issue straight away. No issues with the atmosphere for big games.
It’s not difficult.Simple supply and demand. If you want a full ground (and future support) lower the prices until the ground is full.Oh and there is a chance of a full ground that people may spend money on food and drink if prices are reasonable (this is not the case at the moment so people go to the pubs). The question is do the club care if the ground is full?

That’s what too many fans don’t understand - the owner buying the club wasn’t an act of philanthropy, it was an opportunity to attain a platform to project Abu Dhabi onto the world and secure a load of dubious land deals in the process. Chaotic characters like Garry Cook and Mancini, and players like Hart, Zabaleta and Kompany perpetuated the ‘City’ identity for the first few years after the takeover, but since Soriano arrived with his transcendent vision for the CFG, the club has gradually become a contemporary version everything we used to ridicule United for.

The ‘legacy’ fanbase is the only authentic element of the club left, and as you point out, those currently running the it aren’t really arsed about us - people are deluded if they think otherwise. An introduction of the 50+1 here would be ideal, but would require financial intervention from the Government.

Our fans can’t be blamed for the general lack of atmosphere either; most home games for the past 5 years have been a team assembled for 4x the cost of the opposition, having circa 70% possession and inevitably winning comfortably - you’d be a weirdo to be passionate about it. It’s generally not competitive, and has an exhibition vibe about it.
Perhaps you should find another team to support then assuming you don't already.

More than 52,000 tickets were sold for yesterday’s game (including season cards). Some of those seats were sold twice.

I agree a lot of the tickets are too expensive for many fans but the cheapest areas of the ground are rarely packed out.

Running an OSC Branch of around 140 members, people share their tickets for home games they can’t make at a reduced price or sometimes for free. People who are struggling with ticket prices could inquire whether Blues in their local Branches support each other so going to the game is more affordable.

Many won’t be aware OSC Branches do this because of the obsession with away tickets.

Here’s the reality:

Option A
42,000 x £50 = £2,100,000
£2,100,000 x 19 = £39,900,000

Option B
52,000 x £30 = £1,560,000
£1,560,000 x 19 = £29,640,000

£39,900,000
- £29,640,000
= £10,260,000

The club couldn’t give two shits if the ground is full. They couldn’t give two shits if they’re pricing out people who would come and create an atmosphere.

They’re thinking short-term, what’s the best thing for the bottom line this year.

Because we’re successful and playing great football, they can charge £50 a game and there’s enough demand at that price to make it profitable.

The sad reality is, when we go shit, ticket prices will drop, and in turn, the atmosphere will get better.

This thread has become an opportunity for City fans to slag off our own fanbase. We have enough enemies out there to do that for us.
The blame has to go somehwere, be that towards our fans or the board for pricing the tickets. Yesterday shocked me a bit, you often get empty seats in patches, but that was the worst I’ve seen for home game for ages. Somethings not right, we can easily fill the stadium every week, but there’s a problem that needs fixing.

When there’s 1000’s of empty seats it’s obviously going to sap any energy the crowd might have.

There genuinely needs to be something done about pricing of matchday tickets.

12:30 Sat games and midweek games that aren’t cat A should be capped at £25.

Get the thing packed out every week create demand that way.
