Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

Please explain where in the ground they could have put an extra 13k supporters?

Th capacity is almost 3k down since the rail seating and ad hoardings were introduced this summer, so let's say, with segregation, the starting number was closer to 52k Uefa capacity from the off.

They legislate for 3500 in the away sections to also include segregation over the three tiers, so let's say we are down to 49k.

Looked to be at least 7 or 8k in no shows on the night, so call it 42k at that stage.

There can't be a conspiracy, there's no need for one.

The club has long been accused of inflating attendances on such nights, counting no shows, perhaps.

All the same, it was empty enough for the manager to open his mouth.

In your opinion. Mine is that there werre abiut 3k empty seats in the home ends and 3k in the aeay end. Thats 48k. No way was it 38k. If it was then its 38k for most home games. There were no empty seats in my block. Were thwy any where you were?

The 'istree clubs fans are the main protaganists on Twatter and Faceache trying to belittle our support , the irony is 99% of them don't even know where Liverpool or Manchester is , virtually all armchair plastic fans.
When it comes to loyalty and support, i would rather have 40,000 loyal and mostly local City fans than 40,000 Rags or Dippers topped up with another 25-35,000 Tommy tourists holding their plastic bags with thier latest superstore purchases.
It only confirms how desperate opposing fans and media pundits have now become , they cannot criticise our football or the way our football club is run , so they have to highlight a few empty seats when the mighty Leipzig (formed in 2009) come calling on a Wednesday night.
But i quite like the "1-0 to the empty seats" song , lets embrace it , there might not be as many of us , but quality over quanitiy wins every time for me , we have the best supporters in the land , we are at times miserable ,pessimistic and underwhelming , but our fans care and are humble with our success and we get beind the team when they need us
The braggarts at the Swamp & Klanfield can carry on with their mythical ,european nights under the lights and theatre of dreams , but essentially our success is like a knife to the heart to these plastic tourist clubs , because when we win titles and cups, it means they have to wait 30 years or 8 years for anothr rleague title
Massive clubs dont go decades without winning their own domestic title , Barca , Real , Celtic , Juventus and others are massive clubs the Rags and Dippers just have more "customers"

no way was there only 38. Not a chance. There were 1500 in Colin bell level 3 and 1000 in east level 3 empty. 2000 empty on middle and lower tier and 3000 aways. 52.5 less 7.5 - 45.

Well you have to say we’ve fallen for this hook line and sinker.

Pep’s pissed off. Blues at each other’s throats.

Next time can we just ignore what other club’s fans think and stick together?

Its been blown out of all proportion. Keane’s comment about united being the prawn sandwich brigade was a lot worse than what Pep said.

It’s clear now that all he meant was be loud against Southampton because we will need it after 6-3.

Stop taking the bait. It’s not important what others think. We don’t have to defend ourselves as fans or as a club.
Keane was right back then, Klopp was right when he called out his fans and Pep was right during the week. The only way Southampton or a team of their ilk win at the Etihad or Anfield is if the fans and players are not "on it". This season already looks to be heading in the direction 90+ points and Pep has all but guaranteed the atmosphere on Saturday will be substantially more raucous than it would have been therefore reduced the chance of a shock to almost zero.

in my opinion mate this has nothing to do with attendances per se but the ongoing concerted attempted to undermine the club at every opportunity by the rag/scouse media for obvious reasons
but own goal by pep nevertheless
