Correct, its gotten worse over time and can only remember many doing it during Pellegrini's last season at City

I don't think "fuck the legacy fans" is appropriate when discussing hospitality/corporate even though several people have expressed the same sentiments. I would estimate the hospitality sections at the Etihad contain fewer than 5,000 seats, so less than 10% of capacity. This means the rest of the stadium has at least 50,000 available seats which is more than before the south stand extension, and over 50% more than we had at Maine Road.
However I will agree the club has fucked over the regular fans, legacy or otherwise, with high increases in individual match and season ticket prices. Why the hell was PSG so much more than the other CL games? I didn't go to watch Messi, Mbappe and Neymar, I went to watch City just as I did when we played Leipzig and Brugge.

If noise comes from SS3 it spreads quickly both down and sideways, creating what we had last night: the same song being sung everywhere most of the time.

The cheapest and easiest sticking plaster fix for atmosphere problems would be relocating 1894 to the back of that stand. 50-100 lads at the back under the roof is all it takes to get a stand going much of the time.

If we could get just 50 or 60 tickets grouped at the back of 115 it would help a lot, 100 would be even better. We do have a lot of regular singers at the back of 115 but there are still a lot of areas diluted by non singers and seats taken up by people that clearly have not been to a game before videoing the game or being a blogger.

We cant get tickets grouped, even on champions league nights there are just odd random tickets left, when it comes to season card renewals there are about 12 spare in the whole block which holds 750.

It is a mystery. To say 115 is only about 7 seasons in place how the hell has it got this way. We are on to the club about this every year on how we can move out the non singers and day seats. I have even said wipe the whole of 115 at the end of the season and try to somehow filter out fans in there that would be better off in other areas. It would kick off like mad the club told us, they wont and cant do much about it.

I'll tell you why it pisses me off. I've got two 13 year old lads, City daft. They are very much part of the social media banter era. One of them has an injury and couldn't go on Tuesday. He has a mate of the same age who supports Leeds.

I was talkign to him about the game the next day and THE FIRST THING HE SAID was "there weren't many there, though, were they?" I asked him where did you get that from and he said Seb (the Leeds fan). So I gave my lad a few of the above facts: did you know that in the second division we got nearly twice their crowds, did you know that we got bigger attendances when they won the league etc. He didn't know any of that stuff. None of it. I, of course gave him a lesson and told him not to take it. I did something similar earlier in the season when a Liverpool fan had been telling him we had "no history".

This "shit support" myth has become so entrenched amongst kids now that our history has been erased.

Yes, that's true. You see how these kinds of myths about football take root and it's no surprise that charlatans in political life here and in the States have been electorally successful by peddling bare-faced lies. It's exactly the same thing. I've seen it for a long time from prominent politicians in my adopted country and used to think that a majority of people back home weren't stupid enough to fall for this kind of thing.

Now I know that I vastly overestimated the British public, and some of the idiocy around various political issues is more than matched by some of the staggering nonsense I see people believing wholesale about our club. Unfortunately, kids just absorb it. Better stop here, though, as I'm straying into territory that's more properly discussed in the Off-Topic forum. :)

People used to leave early when we played at Maine Rd, mate. And it was far easier to get away from Maine Rd, with loads of routes to choose from.

It's an absolute fucking nightmare getting away from the Etihad, and it's getting worse. Leaving 5 minutes early can be the difference between getting home in 20 minutes or in an hour an a half.

I just don't buy this idea that it shows a lack of "loyalty" if people don't stay to the end and clap the players off. If you've taken 3 hours out of your day and paid your money to go and support the team, you shouldn't be getting stick because you didn't take 4 and a half hours out of your day and clap them off.

Each to their own, but I think we've got enough to worry about without criticising the people who actually go to the game.

I’d love to see city attack the south stand in the second half. The majority of the atmosphere comes from there so we should use that to our advantage in the second half.

we have tried this 2 or 3 times. The family stand complain to the club in high numbers that they want city attacking their end in the 2nd half as they always have done. For some reason the feed back is that players and managers dont like to change the routine they have and find it strange when they swap ends this way.

i dont feel as though the players and pep even realise what end the noise comes from, you never hear it mentioned. Am i wrong and do they know ?

When we score a goal in front of the south stand we very very rarely see players acknowledge the crowd behind the goal, they would rather slide on their knees in front of a camera in the corner. Would be good if they celebrated more behind the goal to the fans are went to kippax corner like vinny did in the 1 nil derby win.

atmosphere was fantastic tues night, was better than most derby games. Shows it can be done, was buzzing after the game, thats how games should be.

I waited until every player had left the pitch on Tuesday. Then I had a chat with a mate for about 10 minutes. Walked back to the car and drove home to Urmston in 20 minutes. If it takes anyone over an hour to get away from the ground they're parking in the wrong place.

It is each to their own, and if the game hasn't sold out then fans leaving early aren't denying other fans from being there, so I don't really care. But it is a little bit strange that the same people need to leave early EVERY game regardless of KO time or opposition. They must be under the thumb and only allowed an allotted amount of time out the house or something :P

I'd rather watch it at home so I don't miss any of the game.

as above. Are you parking at the etihad? If so, no wonder it’s taking you an hour. If you can park 10/ 15 minutes away on one of the side streets you can get away ok.

No mate, against Wolves I parked on an estate 10 minutes from the ground where I've always parked and never had any trouble getting away. It took me an hour and twenty to get to Sale.

Against Everton I parked in a car park (not official) near the athletics stadium and it took me an hour and a half to get to Cheadle.

Sorry but the idea you can stay until the end and get away without any traffic is just absolute nonsense.

According to Google Maps, it's 22 minutes from the Etihad to Urmston with absolutely no traffic, and you're telling me that after a game, you got back quicker than if there was no traffic at all? I just find that impossible to believe I'm afraid.

If you stay to the final whistle, I can't see how you're getting from your seat to your home in Urmston in less than an hour on a match day. Unless you've got a police escort.

recently when I have been able to go, it’s not been too bad. Usually park outside ashburys train station and drive through longsight, through kingsway to Cheadle.

never said the last point mate. Of course there’s always traffic. Parking anywhere near the ground/ athletics stadium I wouldn’t recommend

It makes it harder to grow our fan base and that’s what the rag / dipper loving media want.

That said, some of the negativity on here at times makes it easier for the lazy journos so there’s a bit of a negative cycle. For example, I’m reading that it’s too hard for City fans to buy home tickets but it’s too easy for Lesds to get them lol.

My mate brought his daughter to the game who was getting a hard time from school mates before hand. They live between Leeds and Wakey. She was really looking forward to getting back into school the next day to give them both barrels.

FWIW, our Supoorters Club Branch that has some members in Leeds is thriving and there was a wonderful Blue moon over the City year, yesterday.

just to jump in here, I leave early from west ham pretty much every game - not because usually over the years we're 2-0 down and playing shite but leaving 5 mins before you have thousands of people crushing for the exit makes a huge difference - there's stewards with stop/start signs now to help traffic the number of people to the trains/tubes, you are herded like sheep with angry blokes and others shouting 'Irons' every 2 mins. it's hell.
I leave 5 mins earlier, run for the nice and empty train and I'm home in no time. Who really cares if fans leaving a bit early.

You’re definitely parking in the wrong spot. Maybe not 20mins but I can get to Stretford before the 17:30 game easily during a normal 15:00 game

We park in the Dean street car park in the centre near the Ian Curtis mural. Lovely 15 minute walk to the ground. By the time we leave after the final whistle, walk back to the car park, the traffic has cleared.

Mind you, we do have to drive back to Bedford (3 hours) so never really in a rush to get back.
