Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

Wembley stooped to an all time low for me by telling City fans on the concourse via an Airport style announcement to take their seats 30 minutes before kick off. In protest I stayed on the concourse for the whole match drinking their over priced shite slowly. I missed City beating Chelsea. But I made a pointless point.

Me too. Fan culture and atmosphere (including banners) should be left to the fans 100%. Clubs shouldn’t have any input into it.

At the 2001 Manchester derby, the speakers broke and the atmosphere was phenomenal pre-game.

Always remember this one pre-game as a kid as being the best though…

Watch the first 6:30 up to the kick off. Neither set of fans needed any PA system music or shouting, or a lights show. Everyone in their seats early.

Yes now that’s more like it Maine Road with a Kippax in full voice.proper atmosphere at a proper ground

I hope the Liverpool game has a really good atmosphere.
Often, when we have a really big game the atmosphere isn't great because people are tense and nervous.

Our atmosphere in big games are fine, like Liverpool in 18/19.

I've been to hundreds (if not thousands) of football games over the years and that 2-1 vs Liverpool was by far the best atmosphere I've ever experienced.

Pure hostility from the first minute to the last.

More of that tomorrow night and Sunday please everyone. We can create an atmosphere better than anywhere when it’s a big game.

This one will go one way or the other. It will of course start raucous and hostile but if we concede a goal or particularly two it will get nervy as hell. If we batter Liverpool it will be one of the most celebratory atmospheres in the stadiums history.

Just imagine the scenes if we’re 3 up at any time or 2 up near the end.

You’ve seen the champions now fuck off home

If the Liverpool game goes well the atmosphere will be as good as anything you’ll hear anywhere in the country, including the media’s beloved Anfield. That 2019 game was something else. I can’t see us getting the same wankfest on Sky etc. however.

I hope tonight has a good atmosphere too, a reminder of how good he Etihad can be, in time for the weekend. Two hugely important home games, back to back for City(and two important away games to follow). Maximum effort from the fans would be just the ticket.
