Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

I'm originally from Holland, where the atmospheres are very different. You can't really do 'pyros' they do in the stands there, as the flares aren't allowed, but why don't we have some massive banners, flags, jumping or a drum? Are those banned too?

If you look at clubs on the continent, we could do a lot more to bump up the atmosphere in the stadium. Especially against the smaller teams, as the entire stadium seems to nod off a bit...

If a drum comes anywhere near the etihad my elbow is going thru the fucker

Magical combination of a spot of adversity and (I'd like to think) reasonable ticket prices bringing in up for it fans who might not come week after week. Palace was a similar feeling but Saturday was special.

Hoping now that we can keep up the momentum at Brentford - although the 12.30 kick off doesn't leave much time to lubricate! - as we won't be seeing the lads for a while after that and they deserve a good send-off. Next home game is Everton NYE, so hopefully some good festive vibes there an' all. CTID!
The lads definitely deserve a good send off. We need to get behind the lads tomorrow night too. Chelsea at home in a Cup
Should always be a decent atmosphere.

I don't think those things in isolation would sort out the atmosphere, to be honest. We've tried a lot of them already.

I don't know if it's a majority or a very loud minority, but there are many fans who dislike the 'ultra' style of support. They prefer the traditional, more spontaneous British atmosphere (where the noise from the stands reflects what's happening on the pitch).

There’s room for both. A mixture between traditional and Ultra. It’s worked at Palace, Huddersfield, Boro, and amongst quite a few other fan groups at smaller clubs and grounds, which we don’t see. The British style of Ultra will always be different to the European style of Ultra. Fans won’t be wearing balaclavas, letting off flares, smoke bombs, waving flags, etc during the game.

I do find it amusing when people continually say I’ll stick the drum up somebody’s arse if they use it near me. The point is, they won’t use it near them if it’s used in the new NS singing section, which will be probably 1 or 2 blocks at most?

As I’ve always stated, if a drum is used properly and not bashed to f*ck for 90 minutes like at Leicester, for example, it can actually aid the chants and keep them going. There are plenty of (Ultra) chanting videos that prove this on social media.

How do you gauge that "it works" though? There'd be people who stop going for definite, or would they be acceptable collateral damage?

Stop going because of a drum? Please!

And if they do stop going, some other City fan(with ear plugs) would snap up their season ticket or match ticket.
