Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

It should really be one of the best atmospheres we’ve ever had against Madrid

Every city fan who’s been fortunate enough to go this game should be singing, shouting and creating any noise they can for the full game

I’ll be doing my best in the east stand. Come on city!
Can't wait for it me reckon it will be by far the best we've had for a few years at home

Went to Everton today.

Fucking superb support.

Old and new songs sung.

At the end it was great, the players and Pep coming over.

Pep loved his chant when he was stood in front of us and as he walked off the pitch.
.
Some away end that today

For the record. I’ve got nothing against Everton fans. I hope Everton stay up.

Pre-match.

City go into the Goodson Park bear pit. The Everton fans will create a hostile atmosphere. Blah, blah, blah.

I think I heard 2 Stadium loud chants of Everton, Everton, Everton all match. That was it.

It just shows how untruths about support and atmospheres at certain grounds are created and continued by the football media.

Compare that to how the atmosphere at the Etihad is reported in general, even though we sing throughout the game, and all the different songs we sing.

Like I posted previously, compare our home support to other teams home support and you’ll soon realise how good our home support really is.(in general)

I think the same about pretty much every away I’ve been to this season - examples - media darlings Newcastle were no better than us, Liverpool and Tottenham had good wins against us in relatively poor seasons, you’d expect them to be bouncing, but again no better than us, in fact simply not as good as the Etihad. The myth is out there now though and a lot of people just treat it as fact.

There’s always fucking one on BM isn’t there?

Who said I or anyone else cared?

You obviously did because you commented.

It was the atmosphere and spectacle.(displays)

PS. Make sure you wave your flag on Wednesday. There’s 50,000+ flags being put next to the seats on Wednesday by the club.
Bet 325 to 327 don’t get any again, last year they stuck crappy pieces of plastic to the chairs

Bang on jrb the problem lies with the usual suspects and people who have never been to the Etihad believe the Narrative presented to them through the various media outlets.

I was amazed they actually said something disparaging about Arsenal's atmosphere yesterday. If I remember rightly they were referring to how it had been in previous seasons and how it's improved this year.

I can't imagine them ever doing the same with the cult or the rags. They know there'd be buried with thousands of OFCOM complaints from London and Dublin.

Thought the same thing. In the relegation zone and soon to leave Goodison. A Scouse team whose support is overwhelmingly loyal and local. You would think they would be singing and shouting their hearts out, but they were silent for about 89 minutes. Thinking closely about our atmos really makes you listen to other fanbases and realise the amount of myths being peddled.

Even when the atmosphere is OK with Red clubs they have hardly any songs. Take 'Arsenal, Arsenal' - zero effort and in a London accent it sounds like they're celebrating our Erling these days.

Thogden at the AC Milan v Inter Milan 1st leg CL match.

A good watch as usual.(bar the guff and short adds)

Great pre-match displays from both sets of fans. Great vocal support from the Inter fans, along with their flags and 2 sticks. AC Milan fans with pyros in The 2nd half and still supporting the team at 0-2 down.

How a vocal (North stand) level 2 should be and look. ;-)

do not let this clown in on Wednesday

Almost as bad as our 'Haaland, Haaland' one. There's some great efforts on his thread and I'm particularly fond of the Billy Ocean one. Hopefully one of those gets a bit of momentum.

Not a massive fan of Blue Moon to be honest as it's too short to be an anthem and a bit monotonous. It can sound impressive at first but after repeating the same verse a few times it soon peters out.

Agree though, our chants are usually a lot more creative than most. I'm particularly partial to the ones that incorporate a bit of humour like the Balotelli one.

Some decent ones introduced this season like 'follow', 'best defence in Europe' and 'everywhere' by the Mac. Sound great at away games and beginning to get traction at home.

We need to slow our songs down a touch. Its like were in a rush with every song to get them over with. Heard us singing 'best defence in europe' yesterday and it was almost impossible to understand with how fast we were signing it.

Agreed. I can't keep up with the Bernardo song. Think you need to be on some questionable substances to be able to. I just join in with the 'Berrrrrrrnnaaaaarrrdddooo' bit.

Some of them we try and stick too many syllables in a line too which could easily be fixed by slightly altering the words.
