Just been reading this on MEN site via newsnow. Seems like 110 staff may be at risk of redundancy.
We need this business staying in Manchester, maybe not at the airport terminal, as I imagine the rental there is rather high because of its prime location. Perhaps in the newly developed business estate near to the airport or at the etihad campus collar site as part of that redevelopment. This could also house the city group's call centre. Housing the ticket offices and all other group related call business.
The rental would be substantially reduced, and the costs could be further reduced by outsourcing the call centre staff to a local business, my daughter works for just such a business (convergys) at their customer call centre in Stretford (hate giving her a lift to work because of that ugly meccano set that we have to pass)
Her company have a number of sites around the greater Manchester area, with ones in Bradbury, altrinchan & Castleton amongst others , all fairly difficult to get to at the abnormal shifts that occur with 24 hour call centres.
With companies like BT, Vodafone and RAC using this outsourcing facility it's quite a prestigious set of contracts .
Why not push for a world class facility catering for all the major business call centres from around the world. Who hates talking to Indian call centres when dealing with British companies like Tesco and Talk Talk? I know I do, I also worked for a software house who supported all the major dairies in the UK, and even one of these had a call centre in Manila
Let's get the collar site, or even one of the Mills that are being redeveloped in Holt town, new Islington or Bradford to house the world's biggest and best call centre to support the world's best football team alongside the world's major blue chip businesses. Let's make Manchester great again, no longer King Cotton we need a new monicker for our beloved home, any ideas blue moon fans?

Greater Manchester is the call centre capital of Europe. There are more seats for call centre workers here than anywhere else in Europe. As well as the outsource companies you list many blue chip companies have their own contact centres based in Greater Manchester and some others just across the boarder in Warrington or Liverpool. Etihad might be a different issue though, their call centre is multi lingual and unfortunately us mancs speak one language (broad mancunian) so might not be their ideal base

I think the Etihad Call centre is in the Voyager building at the airport - so it won’t be in the most expensive rental bracket. Given the size of the operation - I’m not sure how much they are going to save by moving it.
