A bit of time to kill.

Aniline chemical works to the new training academy.

What's that area of turf in the top picture? Is it a bowling green attached to the works social club perhaps?

Fuck me, there were some serious quantities of asbestos cement to remove when they demolished those buildings.

Those pictures look worlds apart. In a very real sense they are, of course.

In the 2nd picture that turf area look like water, just a guess but I wonder if it's not turf but algae.

When Daily Mail readers, with tiresome predictability, moan about our health and safety culture, it says a great deal about their priorities in life when they get worked up into a frenzy about a few low ranking local government officers brandishing clipboards, rather than be thankful for all the lives it has saved in the construction and chemical industries.

does anyone know when the EDS etc will start to play in the new mini stadium?

Yes the first picture was a bowling green that belonged to the company, it also had a pitch and putt course but playing out of the bunkers wasn't recommended, due to the chemicals under the ground:-)

There was talk that the first EDS game would be Everton at the end of October, but whether that still holds true, I don't know.

I am hoping that when the Grand Opening of the new Campus happens that the media will cover the transition process that needed to be done to decontaminate this deadly environment.
Just wonder if this massive ground washing cost could in some way be invoiced to Ciba Geigy who closed the factory in its contaminated condition.

Perhaps the purchase price paid by ADUG allowed for this normally unnecessary extra cost ?

Hope that's true. Or rather I actually just hope we will play our UYL game vs Bayern there as I'm over in UK that week and would like to see the new mini stadium in effect!
