Just done the junior run around the ground with my little ones - 8 mins for 1.5miles :)

What a dump the place is, never really considered all the standing water and holes until you are forced to actually run around it!

Total agreement, i remember walking across the new bridge shortly after everyone had been waxing lyrical about it and was shocked to see it holding water...joe mercer way looks like the gypo's tarmaced it...even the blue and white painting of it managed to get overspill up the surrounding walls and lamposts.

That said there was some mention of the heirarachy wanting to seriously up-grade the surrounding street furniture around the ground and bring it to a level akin to the outside of the college and campus....i'm not sure new brush steel and wood bench's will be enough because huge sections of flooring around the ground are clearly two-bob....i'd have been parrot if i'd have paid for that new bridge across the new road only to see Manc puddles the first time it rained.

Also a couple of years back, didn't the club have plans to build some offices were the Summerbee/Maine Road pub was, didn't they knock the pub down to do this ?

Planning permission was sort to build a media accreditation centre it look quite smart, I'm sure JRB would be able to dig this out. Obviously never happened for some unknown reason

You could use this on that bridge when it rains:

It's quite unbelievable how tatty the outside of the stadium is, especially the floor. Considering none of it is more than fifteen years old and most of it is quite new. The paint jobs and the fact there standing puddles is amateur.

Slightly related but not very; also, the fact that the East Stand still has to walk via Denmark to walk back to Town isn't right neither.

From inside the stadium the SS look's great, bar the corners with the metal poles, which should eventually be hidden by the still to be fitted giant screen's.

Externally the SS looks OK. It's not a World beater, but compared to many other end's(stadium's), it looks good. The new black tarmac outside the SS mixed in with the original paving look's dereadful.

However, as many have mentioned before, the general finish throughout the SS expansion, including the original parts of the SS, which were altered, are shocking. You would end up with a list as long as your arm with jobs to do. And if you think the public area's are bad, you should see the area's closed off to the piblic and only accesible to matchday staff.

I can't believe for minute that our owners and those charged with overseeing the SS expansion are happy with the final result and finish. Yet there seem's to have been little or no attempt so far to rectifiy these finish issues.

I couldn't agree more, did they actually do any snagging at all on the stand. It is almost as if they rushed it to be ready for the first home game of the season and then left it regardless of the state of the interior and never returned to finish the job properly.

Following on from the above, I've often thought that the snagging had never been done. Do you think that once the concerts are over the contractor will be coming back to correct the clear defects in and around the South Stand?

Not sure if mentioned previously but apparently during the summer the current dressing rooms are being replaced with ones upstairs. Not sure why they are doing it and if the away dressing room is being moved too but apparently this is the case. We were told this a couple of weeks back during an event at the stadium. A bit strange to move everything about at this stage

Been expecting them to be moved to the north west corner using the current tunnel there to access the pitch with the whole dugout area redesigned
