For the building engineers amongst us, is this as difficult as it looks? Looks pretty impressive (to my untrained eye) how they've maintained the clean roof lines between the old and new..

Agreed, considering the height difference, I think it looks pretty good.

Are City actually going to develop the area round the stadium itself? I'm assuming something is going there as it's just derelict land used as carparks at the moment.

I, I'm not complaining.

Much better than a continuous roof, which looks pretty boring in my opinion.

I'm guessing like a new stadium the new stand will need to be trialed to pass all the h&s certificates? Will this mean we will have a pre season friendly at home?

Yes. We're still waiting to see the proposal/s. Leisure destination and other uses.

Whenever I see it, it reminds me of the top of the Statue of Liberty's head.

When you see references to the collar site, that's the land being discussed. What's going on it is up for debate at the moment but a big luxury hotel/shopping/casino complex looks likely. (maybe).

Run off goes into the River Medlock. It's the Campus that has the storage tanks.

The spirals will need more work than raising the roof took to make them look that good!

i think that will get sorted when the sides/stands are done....regardless of that i think the design looks shit ...them protruding posts out onto the new road remind me of a flat roof extension on a period building

Yea no doubt but sorting the sides isn't exactly imminent!

Jacko I know what you mean mate in regards to stadiums all lookingthe same but iI just think in this instance it looks shit. The roof looks like is only really meant to go round neatly,because of the shape of it. It looks a botch job tbh, but hey my season ticket was 380 quid this year so I cant say I particularly give a fuck!
