Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

*don't shoot the messenger but there is going to be a huge underground car park including a upper one or two storey car park on this site.
Was just thinking that, with it being on a hill and the stadium lower tiers already cut into the ground, then some car parking could go below ground and a couple of levels above ground on the east.

They are also looking at two entry/exits, one on Alan Turing Way and the other on Ashton New Road to ease congestion.

I’m in Ashton and not bothered about getting home early , I’d just like to get home,
Maybe safely
Maybe with options on how to travel
Maybe with something to do near the ground if the above is not possible
what is early anyway? Early for me could be late for someone else or visa Versa
Iv gratefully been picked up by my Mrs the last few years as travelling on the tram with a 9/15 year old after games was unsafe with crushing and the last straw being crushed and broke down.

there's park and ride in Ashton with access to the motorway,
There just isn’t any trams to take us there after the game has finished, well not that I’d consider fit for the public to travel on and I have no idea if there are buses that go to Ashton after the game .. will be car for me untill they sort the shit show they call a transport link to Ashton
I honestly see the Ashton tram after the game so packed and think why would you want to be on that

Getting home early would be getting home earlier than your ETA.

Do you think other fans moan about their ground being a nightmare to get to? Be thankful we’re still not at Maine Road where there was zero trams, no trains, and next to zero parking. Didn’t hear anyone moan then. Now we’re in a modern stadium within walking distance of the city centre and it’s as though we play in the darkest recesses of Outer Mongolia according to some on here.
Instead, chill out, get to the ground and realise that when you’re in ANY arena which holds 50,000 + spectators it’s going to take you more than ten minutes to get away from it!

Everybody moans about everything. Especially in their own town.

Even after hundreds of visits over the years, I’m still in awe of the London Underground. The frequency of the trains and that it seems you can travel between virtually any two points in Greater London with just one charge of trains. Yet talk to any Londoner and they all think it’s shit.

I lived in London for about 23 years on and off till last summer. The tube is very very good for shifting large amounts of people around in a short space of time. Its also an engineering masterpiece and very old. Some parts are modern due to upgrades. However like anything popular it gets packed, uncomfortable, is expensive, smelly and not very aesthetically pleasing being underground. I would mostly cycle or get a bus or bought a moped for a while for getting around. For longer journeys that needed doing quickly I'd get the tube. For the price though its not good value in my opinion. Plus the drivers go on strike which can be a pain.

That's a shame. Loved the idea of a hyperloop.

When I first started out in newspapers, we used to have to send the schemes and copy through a suction tube like they still do with cash in supermarkets.
Would that be like the thing Augustus gloop got stuck in, in the willy wonka and the chocolate factory film?
