ADUG own the land in the joint venture with Manchester City Council.
CFG entered a partnership with Oak View Group in summer 2019 re the development. Oak View, until this announcement, were fully funding the project without any tax subsidies (common in other countries for developments of this type) but there will be other investors involved and not just Harry Styles.
It was always the case CFG would be making money from the land. CFG and MCC are landlords and will derive income from the lease agreement which is split t 80% CFG and 20% MCC.
As you say, with this new announcement, we will also be generating additional £mils. I wouldn't like to hazard a guess as to how much.
@tolmie's hairdoo righty suggested this was huge. Presumably CFG will be looking for similar arrangements as the remainder of the campus is developed.
I should also add CFG (in association with Silver Lake) are leading the way amongst football clubs/groups in terms of e-commerce. This is never reported and >99% of football supporters, the main stream media etc are blind to the potential future income streams.
As supporters we better get used to the idea that in the years ahead, as the flagship for CFG, we will be far and away the biggest and wealthiest in the world. UAE sponsorship might continue for City/CFG but this will be a splash in the ocean relative to all other CFG income streams.
Meanwhile, the likes of Delaney, Rory Smith, Tariq Panja, the Harris twins and all the broadsheets like the Guardian etc peddle their shit that our "project" is all about sportswashing to the exclusion of any business/investment motive.
