I've been to the Colin Bell tribute today, had a walk round the stadium and took a few pictures. The *Red Zone signage at the main entrance felt a bit strange, is this Covid related or permanent and somethng I've just simply missed, feels really strange and a bit of an own goal and out of place.

To do with the vaccination programme I'd guess, you're not really finding fault with that surely?

It’s clearly Covid testing related and has been there for several months when the stadium was being used.

I mean seriously. How is this even a question?
It's a question because I didn't understand what it was for.

Perfectly reasonable question mate. I had no idea of any red zone at the Etihad, so also interested in what it is. And yes, I am sad enough that I don’t want any red anything at the Etihad. However, if Covid related & a temporary measure, I think I can just about handle it

Actually I've just thought, it's the tennis centre they're using for the vaccinations isn't it? Not the football stadium?
My first thoughts were Covid, I know the NHS use the stadium.

Just thought it was very well documented that the stadium was being used for COVID related reasons and that a sign like that was a clear indicator. Let’s face it, there wouldn’t be a sign like that on our main entrance without such a reason.

There is Red zone, Amber zone and I assume there is a green zone too with a separate entrance but I'm not sure whereabouts in the stadium that is. The Amber zone is through one of the old tunnels and into Entrance T I think.

The red zone is only accessible by those with negative tests and the QR code to prove it. Essentially a health passport. So players, coaches and essential matchday staff, as well as broadcasters and match officials. Think there's a maximum of 105 people allowed in the red zone on a matchday.

It just says Red Zone no signage giving indication what the Red Zone was for. The Covid tests are apparently not in the main stadium.

Brilliant Wolfie thank you that makes a lot of sense, if you don’t ask you’ll never know
