I agree....just from the little I do know, she doesnt seem to be a "yes" person....and is happy to protest against something if she genuinely doesnt believe in it.....this will be seen as a genuine hit to the "leaves"....and speaks more than a thousand words could ever in my opinion!

Now if we could only get a few hundred more MP's who had valuable skills and knowledge and principles to bring into parliament we may get somewhere. We might one day end up with a Health Secretary with great insight into the NHS, an Education Secretary who had performed amazing work in the education system...

Its why the House of Lords > House of Commons for debate

True. She spoke out recently to say both the Government and the BMA were neglecting patients in their dispute about the Junior Doctors' Contract!

I'm not happy with the current issues surrounding life in Greater Manchester, that have arisen in the past 4 decades since we've been part of the EU. The lack of investment into our city is scandalous and it annoys me that people think we can continue plodding along in the EU as they hand us Briton's living outside the capital the short straw.

I'm all for my country having full control over itself and I'm all for Westminster delegating power to an elected mayor of my City who'll work with our best interests at heart.

The more layers of government you add, the more difficult that becomes. So I'm voting out.

Wollaston as health secretary then? Ken Clarke had at least worked outside government in his life. Cameron's a PR man (and a bad one at that).

The complaints about the House of Lords always annoy me. They don't make law, they include many experts who point out the flaws in bad policy without needing to resort to populist posturing. They aren't elected, and the appointment method is bent, but they are an important check on dogmatic governments with huge majorities (oop,s, strayed off topic...)

We've already seen it.
Foxy's load of bollocks will be portrayed as "fact"

For a start I haven't "attacked" her nor am I on the leave side. I suggested she might be taking one for team "call me Dave". The Leave campaign can be criticized just as much for inconsistency given Gove and Boris' change in views...

Manchester33......most of those issues are down to "local Government" spending plans and cuts...EU dont tell the Government not to invest in Greater manchester...

Yes, because life is really terrible right now isn't it. What a calamity it will be if we carry on like this??!?!

Low unemployment, more vacancies than unemployed, low inflation, low interest rates, growth, deficit coming down. Terrible, just terrible.

EDIT: And once we get this bloody annoying referendum out of the way, just you watch business and the economy take off. You can bookmark this.

We've had nearly 2 years now with businesses driving with the brakes on because of the uncertainty surrounding the referendum and once it's out of the way, the economy will start to really motor.
The country is being held back by the EU. No what club or association you consider, it will always be nigh on impossible to get 28 very different, very driven, very focused individuals to agree on anything. The EU is too big, too cumbersome, too bureaucratic, too costly to work efficiently. It is already cracking and I think we would prosper equally as well out of it.

Finally regarding Turkey and their wanna be cohorts. I accept they will not join the EU anytime soon.... however, Turkey has already secured visa free travel in The Shengen zone which to many people is the same as being in the EU. I appreciate that we are not part of the Shengen zone, but in my opinion this merely the thin end of the wedge, the beginning of the end and I certainly don't want to be part of that implosion. You guys may feel comfortable being part of it I'm not.

My opinion, I can't expect you to agree with it but that's how I feel and there are many many more like me, just as there are many many more who share your views.

We need to get better at bidding. EU money has transformed Liverpool's docklands. We've been too lazy or ignorant to cash in!

When I go into hospital for surgery I don't know who the surgeon is.

When I get on an airplane I don't know who the pilot is.

I do however have a pretty good idea they know more than you about flying planes and repairing internal organs of the body.
What a meaningless post. The people we're talking about hold public office and are accountable. If you've got nothing sensible to say, do th decent thing and keep quiet.

Cheer MF

Doesnt matter if you agree or not...from everything I've read, this woman is a GP and knows what she is talking about...and she has shown many times she willing to speak out and Protest against Cameron/Government when she doesnt believe something is right.....So by doing this now, its clear she no longer believes leaving is right for the country....This is a big loss for the "leave" campaigners in my opinion and just shows the lies and false hope they are being sold...I'm waiting for MP's of the "outs" to discredit Sarah Wollaston's claims but this is normal as no one likes to be told they wrong....

EU referendum: MP Sarah Wollaston swaps sides over 'untrue' Leave claims

Dr Wollaston, chairman of the health select committee, said Vote Leave's claim that Brexit would free up £350m a week for the NHS "simply isn't true".

Leave campaigners defend the £350m figure, saying it is the UK's gross contribution and any money received back is at EU officials' discretion.
But the Totnes MP, who is a GP, said: "For someone like me who has long campaigned for open and honest data in public life I could not have set foot on a battle bus that has at the heart of its campaign a figure that I know to be untrue.

"If you're in a position where you can't hand out a Vote Leave leaflet, you can't be campaigning for that organisation."

Dr Wollaston said she thought there would be a "Brexit penalty" on the NHS because leaving the EU would hit Britain's economy.

"The consensus now is there would be a huge economic shock if we voted to leave," she said. "Undoubtedly, the thing that's most going to influence the financial health of the NHS is the background economy. So I think there would be a Brexit penalty."

So what were Wollaston's original reasons for being a part of the Leave campaign for so long?
Just having one opinion doesn't really constitute a strong enough belief that leaving the EU is better for Britain.

"Dr Wollaston defended her decision to change camps saying "nobody wants politicians who make the wrong decision" and it would be "far worse" not to change her mind"

I believe what is more damaging for the "leaves" is the fact that the chairman of the health committee has history of speaking out and protesting against Cameron/Government on issues...she doesnt do anything to gain favours.....the Longer this campaign was gone on, she has just become more uncomfortable with the lies and false hope the leavers are selling.....I give her credit for standing up for what she believes and knowing her position and the principles she has.....I think we should listen.....on a side note she also felt both sides are damaging this process....so she not blind to the move she has made....

Do you really have to shout? Do you think people aren't listening to you? I've read everything you've said to date with the exception of the above article, it's obviously not with taking any notice of if you feel you have to shout to be heard.
