Sane had a very poor performance last night. The fact that he did not even start in a bang average German team speaks volumes about how overrated he is and his appearance did not prove the coach wrong. His deluded fan boys will not like it but that’s a sheer reality.
Bang average team? Germany is stacked with world champions and (multiple times) CL winners. It's the tactics by Löw which led them down.

I know that they have excellent players but that is not enough to make a great team. As you rightly pointed out, their manager has taken them downhill since they won the WC.

Overrated?
Wasn’t he considered as a world beater by Bayern fans when his transfer was announced ? What has he done since then ? Weren’t many of city fans moaning and whimpering when he left ? Have we flopped without him ?

He was a fantastic player on his day for us. His injury in the charity shield unfortunately has meant that he hasn’t yet returned to that level. He may never do. Sad if that’s the case.

Germany is far from a team that will challenge for major trophies now. Lack quality right throughout their side and will be lucky to make it past the last 16. Hummels, Muller, Kroos etc, all been incredible players in the past, but they are a million miles from where they used to be.

The VAR is a referee. What are you going to do about refereeing standards? I don't think the benefits outweigh the cost
Maybe so but the way VAR is used in this tournament is soooooooooooooo much better than the way we use it in England

Yes, he was unfortunate with the injury. Nonetheless, he was throwing his toys out of the pram and did not accept to be benched under a manager who rotates almost the whole team more often than not. If most of our players accepted Pep’s rotation, so should have Sane.

True, but still was an important player when called upon. Think his mother played a big part in his career choice in pushing for a move back to Germany and I bet he has some regrets too. Hope he regains his form for his sake.

Handeling the current World Champion to a 0-0 if not for an own goal is probably more than most teams would achieve, isn't it? Their attack is a tactical mess though and doesn't sync much with each other. But this is not a quality problem, it's the tactics. Müller needs a target man to float around. Werner is more set to a counter-based game instead of running at tight defenses. Löw should start with Volland upfront instead of Gnabry who had a mediocre season with Bayern. He also should play a 4-men defense and Kimmich in midfield, which would bring much more control for them. Kroos and Gündogan ahd a good game yesterday but need to do more on the offensive end. A Kimmich in their back would free them up more. It's details and tactics rather than the players. Let's see how they play Portugal next.
