Europa League & Conference League Semi-Finals | 28 April '22 & 5 May '22

Regardless if they’re in the final or not, I don’t think West Ham will be fighting for anything when we play them
They could have everything to play for. If they're out of Europe, with United's form they could nab 6th and europa league instead of europa conference, they'll be pumped up for that. If they've got a final to play they'll probably gladly just take a defeat and get out of there fit. If they're out of europe and 6th isn't possible, they'll still want to end on a high and give their fans a decent send off.

Unbelievable effort from Bowen. West Ham deserved a draw from that. Will be a tough away leg but they have the ability to do it. Benrahma is a frustrating player. Got real class but just so inconsistent with what he does with the ball. His strike was top class but then he goes and blasts an easier effort miles wide.

That’s the rational thought, but I think Europa is unlikely for them, and not making the final will have a psychological impact anyway. Same thing is we don’t make the UCL final, maybe our team for a game or two after the Madrid game could suffer.

On another note, Leipzig is 95% guaranteed in the final

83% on 538

Do they want to see us win the Champions League you think?
Honestly? I don’t know. Maybe not, but then their fans aren’t a homogeneous mass are they? My own pov is that outside of certain other red teams, I’ll generally as a default support teams from my own league when they play in Europe.
In the case of West Ham there is the added selfish incentive of wanting them to be preoccupied with an upcoming European final.
That being said, after tonight I’m not sure I can see West Ham making the final.
