Europa league seeding - we're in pot 3!!

Following the exclusion of Real Mallorca from the Europa Leage, their spot has gone to Villareal. Real Mallorca had a lower seeding than us, & Villareal have a higher one and as we were already the lowest seeded team in pot 2 of the Europa Leage group stage, this effectively means we're now demoted to pot 3.

The question is this. Is this a positive thing because we're more likely to get drawn against better teams with decent grounds & bigger capacities (more tickets) or a negative thing as it makes qualifying harder?
Personally I'm not too worried as I think our squad should be strong enough to qualify.

I wouldn't be surprised if the bookies make us outright favourites for the trophy.

its more of a worry for the teams that will be drawn in our group!
we were in pot three last time, admittedly out of five, and won the group whilst the top seed went out

Always amazes me that we qualified for Europa due to our league position 5th, so going off the season before we enter the tournament we are the leading prem entry, surely that should put us in pot 1

Good point. Initially I was a little disappointed at us being in pot 3 but like you say it could mean we get a couple of decent games out of it. Although we could potentially face tougher teams we should still be beating the vast majority of them pretty comfortably at this stage really
