From Sporting Witness but they are reporting the rumour from Marca.
Maybe our midfield doesn't need another addition but Banega is a good player and would fit in straight away I would imagine with our other Argentine players.

If there’s one thing you wouldn’t think Manchester City need, it’s a midfielder.
With the likes of Fernando, Fernandinho, Yaya Touré, Kevin de Bruyne, Delph (admittedly injured), Samir Nasri and David Silva (who can also play on the wing), Pellegrini has a few to choose from.
However, Marca, in their Tuesday edition, believe the Chilean manager has already highlighted his next target, and that man is Sevilla’s Ever Banega.
The Argentinean midfielder has made a great return to La Liga football since his move to Sevilla from Valencia after spending a season back in his home country with Newell’s Old Boys.
Described by Monchi, Sevilla’s director of football, as ‘the signing with the most quality’ of his career, Banega has become one of the vital parts of this Sevilla side.
Pellegrini knows the player well from his time in Spain with Real Madrid and Villarreal, and is a big admirer of his creative qualities, according to Marca, meaning he could alleviate the pressure put on Yaya Touré on a weekly basis.
Signing only a two year contract when he arrived in 2014, the player’s time with Sevilla is due to run out in the summer, but the club do have an option to extend it by a year based on performances.
If that is the case, it is very likely the Spanish contingent will active the aforementioned clause, but that won’t stop City if they want their man badly.
Sevilla are known to be a selling club when the price is right, and the possibility of making nice sum of money on one of their best players in the prime of his career could be too hard to refuse.
Seen as one of the more complete midfielders in La Liga, Banega could be the perfect player to compliment Pellegrini’s already great midfield.
