Ever Been In Trouble With The Missus?

My last one swore blind she wasn’t but I knew full well a “me or football” ultimatum was coming so I let her go.

I hear of men having to negotiate for two nights away etc. That’ll never be one for me. I just book up and go.

Bang on. Really don't get this whole asking the Mrs permission thing, especially those without kids.

I run stuff past mine but normally once I've booked. It's more of an 'I'm off here on these dates so set something up with friends or family if you don't have plans'.

I don't know if it's blokes who just marry the first bird they ever shag but fuck asking for permission for anything, it's your life and you are a long time dead. I used to be with a meek and mild girl who turned very possessive behind closed doors and I got earache beyond belief despite being a very nice lad to her at the time. Eventually I just stopped caring and did what I wanted with other birds as I was going to be accused no matter what I did.

My honest view is that men weren't made to be with one woman but society has evolved to try and shape us into chasing this. Any relationship is hard work but clear communication and clear boundaries ASAP in the relationship make things easier and less confrontational.

Trying to remain friends with my ex went down like a lead balloon.
It normally does go south. If I didn't have a child with my ex I probably wouldn't ever speak to or see her again. But as it happens I am really pally with her new husband. He got told by her that he couldn't have anything to do with his ex as he's got no kids. I probably get on better with her now than I did when we were together. It's a really odd set up . I've even been on holiday with her while her husband stayed at home .

She did tell me when we were together while I was working away that she had met a rich Russian and was thinking about upgrading. I thanked her for the honesty but that was the day our relationship was over as i would expect the same if I had said that . Not sure why she told me as it didn't work for her and I wouldn't have known.

Ive never pit up with this either way being fair. Ive always treated every lady Im kicking about with the utmost respect. Women are harder, more mature, and more emotionally intelligent than men in my humble opinion.

When Im seeing a lady, they get that deserved respect.

When Im seeing a lady who gives me any hassle then that warrants discussion, because I am good at enjoying my time and that sometimes doesnt always involve them, but it never ever affects them or impacts.

If I get any shit I from someone who doesnt get doesnt grasp this basic level of respect for eachother as adults who know one another, then Im out of there quicker than greased weasel shit.

I think thats fair, and I would expect it the other way too.

This bollocks of dancing around 'the mrs wouldnt like it' or ' depends what she says' is childlike.

Says more about the men that say it than the ladies who are subject of the supposed fears.

The love of a good woman is a wonderful thing. The dread of upsetting someone you dont like is not worth the hassle of it.
Fuck me Wally that was a long post, can you just tell us if you've ever got in the shit with 'the missus'.

Oofffhh, no coming back from that.

It took all my considerable charm to extract myself from it she already knew she'd married a knobhead so it was pretty much water off a water rat's duck's back. It is however still mentioned in dispatches on a regular basis.

I’ve no recollection of my parents being remotely civil towards or about each other until about six months before dad died when they made peace. This was just over 30 years ago and it still bothers me.
