Everton 2017/18

That Everton fan won't be stepping foot in a football ground again.
That could be the least of this worries though, social services will be giving him a knock and he might not be seeing his kid much either.
Absolute dick head.

If anyone hasn't seen it, he tried punching Lyon players while holding his small child.

Absolute insanity, the kid could have been killed if he had fallen on him or dropped him. Another thing that struck me is most kids exposed to something like that would be crying or distressed, this one wasn't fazed at all which means it probably isn't something new in his young life.

He clearly shouldn't be doing what he was doing and to do so with a small child is crass stupidity.
But to suggest he was in some way endangering his child's life or that on the basis of that action he should have his child removed is hysteria.

Agree with the latter part - but a bit fergiescum RVP with the start.

Let’s not get away from the fact that the bloke is an utter tit. Whether he endangered his life or not (not) it doesn’t take anything away from his cretinousness.

And ... it’s situations like this that enforce the attitude against safe standing and having a pint in our seats. Too many football fans are dickheads

to be fair he probably only had the kid for the day due to court orders and all that !!
as for everton i would say deduct points but we only have 1 - fine them for failing to control their fans, players and the ball !!!

Was about to post something similar. Just watched it on YouTube and after reading this thread first I was expecting an all out brawl with fists flying and the kid nearly getting a punch. Some right fucking overreaction. Mind you, it's a current trend to overreact - there are a few threads on here that have been running for quite some time that are filled with it. Matchday thread is also a good one!

If they are fined it will be twice in a short space of time. They got fined nearly £9000 last month for crowd trouble at home to Hajduk Slpit.

I can see UEFA taking stronger action this time.

Yeah, talk of endangering the kids life is OTT but he was a fucking idiot doing what he did regardless. UEFA get a lot of things wrong but they will rightly come down hard on fans attacking players.

Well he didn't have a pint in his hand and there's no safe standing section at Goodison but it didn't stop him doing what he did so how safe standing can be blamed is beyond me.

As for drinking pints in seats, a plastic pint point of alcoholic lager is a damn sight less dangerous than what UEFA allowed their main sponsor Heineken do at our ground on Tuesday night and that was to hand out full cans of non-alcoholic lager to fans in the liveliest part of the stadium, some of which ended up being launched at the Napoli fans which in turn were launched back at the City fans.

The kid was probably crying and distressed when his dad took him into Goodison in the first place. All cried out.

More my point being whilst utter nobs behave like that it doesn’t help the cause

The whole incident is being blown out of all proportion, get a fucking grip of yourselves, three quarters of you obviously never went to football in the late 60s and 70s and 80s

As much of a knobhead that fan clearly is, did he really 'throw a punch'? Looks like he just aggressively pushes towards the Lyon players.

Oh, he was a tit. Actually, for his sake, it was probably better he had his kid with him otherwise he might have actually got stuck in.

Football fans are basically the biggest idiots and scumbags in this country. Glad I don't go to football matches anymore.

That was 60's/70's/80's behavior, we've moved on but I understand how fans can get dragged into it.
Everton currently reflect where we were not so long ago.
