Don't really care about some of these silly records. We must win at Everton because beating Spurs equalled the record for league games won at the start of a calendar year with nine, joint with Bolton Wanderers in 1906 and Manchester United in 2009.
I think Everton are more likely to rest a few tomorrow against Fulham. Hope your correct but it’s rarely an easy game at Goodison.I disagree mate ... they have quite a few injuries and players out or just coming back from injuries and their three games this week are over 7 days vs our 9 day span ... plus they will have an eye on their derby a couple of days later where they can finally beat Liverpool this year and not just that but also go ahead of them in the table by doing so ... I fully expect them to rest a few key players against us and we’re a handful for even the first choice XI of most teams ...
Toughest game for us next would be the West Ham at home if we have gone and won our next three as well as then that’ll be the team on paper weaker than who we’d have just played, the early kick off time and just after Europe away ... that’s the kind of games where we are susceptible to complacency and that would be the tough part - dealing with ourselves, not an opposition...
On Wednesday, I expect a fully professional approach and a straight forward game against an opponent who will have half their players missing or rested and other half with their minds on their next game ...
Win no.17 incoming!
Calendar year is a term that I will always associate with Wilfried Bony.We must win at Everton because beating Spurs equalled the record for league games won at the start of a calendar year with nine, joint with Bolton Wanderers in 1906 and Manchester United in 2009.
Agreed, lovely consequence though.Don't really care about some of these silly records.
