Everton (FA Cup) Post Match Thread

A tough encounter in more ways than one. Leniency by the officials for blatant cynical fouls. Everton playing for pens

Stuck to the task well and rewarded in the end. Persistence in trying to win the game paid off.

in those type of games Fernandinho always stand out.
Reminded me very much of the game between the Rag's and Arsenal where the Rag's took it in turns to kick f*ck out of Reyes.

Everton targeted both Jesus and Gundo and they would have had no arguments if at least one of those fouls had resulted in a red card; especially the one against Gundo. The player leaving one in on Gabby could easily have seen red also.

Proper shithouse display from the Blue Dipper's.

Great to be in another semi. Didn't think we played very well.
Thought Laporte had several opportunities to make runs forward with the ball but didn't. As we saw when he did then we scored.
Fernandinho had a great game. Thought Gabriel poor as was Gundog and Raheem

Remember the days when we had a losing mentality? If we won 1 game in 3 we were happy.
Now it’s the complete opposite. The club is unrecognisable from the losing mentality era and it’s all down to our superb management team from the Chairman down to Pep and even beyond into all levels of the club. Today’s match emphasised the point to me. The point being we are an absolute machine which runs off winning trophies and it’s a joy to behold. Now our domestic season revolves around winning three more matches to secure ANOTHER treble (the league is won already let’s face it). The fact that no other club has done it before us and that we are sooo close to doing it again just shows how brilliant we are. To win the Champions League at the end of it all would make us the greatest team who has ever played the game in our country if not the world. We can almost taste it - let’s do it City.

He was pretty poor the first half mate, but grew a pair after the break.

Just needs to get his confidence back.
Agree with that, he was frustrating me quite a bit first half. He's slowed right down on the ball, hopefully the bursts second half will give him a bit more confidence

Not read the whole thread, but have to say I thought Phil showed great maturity today. He gets shunted around plenty of positions as we make our various subs, and he’s just getting better and better. He really must be close to being a first choice now, surely even Pep must be aware he can’t be holding him back much longer. He’s superb.
