Everton - Post match thread.

I thought Jesus was more of a problem tbh.

I didn't, I thought he was unlucky to be hauled.

He showed great feet to set up quite a few attacks, but clearly not on wavelength with Kun.

Laughable when Jesus attempted to play him in and Sergio had turned his back.

De Bruyne was much brighter once they switched him deeper, a bit like the second half of the away tie at Monaco.

He's a sunshine player, best in the world when the machine and all its parts are in unison, but his passing his awful when it's not his day.

I think you are bang on the money.

Pep is biding his time and then Aguero will represent nothing more than another option for him.

Still, the manager shouldn't try to make examples of any player to get a possible point across to the board, who have backed him to the hilt.

If Sanchez is signed, it could even be him up top and the young lads all rotating in the wide areas, which is where they are best suited.

I'm glad i'm not the only one to see it this way, I don't like the games though, best case he gets the players he wants, worst case we destroy Sane's confidence and drop too many points (very early days I know) which would be a traversty

I think considering the situation we should be happy with the point. A loss would have been damaging but fighting back with 10 men builds character & confidence. Sterling showed he's up for the fight for a place which will stand us in good stead going forward. We wont win every game & neither will our rivals.

I thought he was very poor in comparison to Sterling.

For me, none of our players played particularly badly, or well for that matter. They pretty much all varied from "quite poor" to "quite good" and most were just "meh". We got a few moments of brilliance from KDB, and Jesus and even Silva I who didn't have his best game, had good moments. It was that the collective just didn't work. Too many players not on the same wavelength, too many duff decisions when opportunities arose. Basically a lack of real quality when it mattered, from more or less everyone. Sterling stood out as being the player that was making a difference and delighted he got his goal.

I thought he was ineffective in the main. Dropping deep constantly and not really getting much joy once he was on the ball.
He'll be a great player for us, no doubts about it but I think the manager called it spit on with the change.

Again, bang on the money.

Same goes for Sterling. It's a World Cup year and he looks like he wants it more than ever. Pep can't afford to cause unnecessary "collateral damage" to get where he needs to go.

He is going to be a truly great player, but he is not playing the current piosition very well at the moment imo.

It was noticeable that we improved in both games when he went off, indeed how much better Silva & Aguero link up without him there.

I think he needs to start a game at striker, with no other responsibilities, to get him back on track. He, Sane & Sterling were fantastic together last season.
