Messi is in an elite league of his own, joined by only a handful of others. Tevez is a level below him but still an outstanding player. Very few players do De Jong's job better than he, and the others can look like world beaters on their day.
Anyways it's not just about having world class in every position. It's about the team functioning as a whole. Man for man, I think a City-Utd IX would be pretty evenly populated, but their team is more cohesive than ours at the moment, that's why they're consistent enough to be in with a shout of the title, whereas we have kind of stumbled into the race for the top 4 whilst looking disjointed for the majority of the season. We just have to stumble through 4 more games! We can do it!

Hmm, agree on the full back bit, don't think Dawson is anywhere near Kompany, Lescott is just a tad better than King in my book when both are fully fit. I think Spuds have better fullbacks than us, and the centre backs are at least as good.
