Announced today that this is going live!

Many people might not even bother thinking about this but it will be a massive part of everyones lives when it rolls out nationally.

Your current 3g phones internet and games will feel like Dial up compared. 4G is the future and will revolutionize business and what you do with your phone. Hopefully the rumours are true that the first 4g phone will be the Lumia 920 followed by the new iphone 4S+ sorry i meant 5 but if you think its not gonna matter to you..your wrong.
Ive seen 4G in action and its like having superfast fibreoptic broadband in your pocket. Shame its just EE getting it but the rest will come on next year and you will need to get on it.

Next gen phones (4G) will be able to pinpoint exactly where you are in a building .......even which floor you are on. Join this up with 'contactless payment' through your phone (available now from Barclays) and marketeers will be able to identify

*Where you shop
*When you shop
*What you like buying / are interested in.

The next stage will be '' Somewherenearyou.com'

Which will be relevant, personalised advertising delivered directly to your phone and possibly even a close by advertising hoarding (see what Starbucks are trying out now!) advising you of special deals and offers just for you. The 'discount voucher' will be delivered directly to your mobile device.

So judging by the EE website, your household should have fibre broadband for it to work?

So are you saying that when i jump in on the iphone 5 bandwagon next week should i be looking to move away from Vodafone to EE?

I don't own a mobile phone and never have, so it has no effect on me ;-)

The advance of technology does have a sinister side in terms of civil liberties and the potential for social control.
You are effectively carrying a tracking device with you. But as long as you can listen to an album or play a video game on it, nobody seems to mind

Depends to what extent they'll be using the information for and also what you're trying to hide from - personally, i'm happy to accept targeted advertising selling me the sort of things i'd like to buy

A 1.6 club Vauxhall Astra estate a nice car and very practical.

I'm not old fashioned or out I just don't need or want one and see them as a waste of money.
