Any of you guys unfortunate enough to have a lower back injury? I did mine shoulder pressing 6 weeks ago, been seeing a physio who assures me it's muscular and not a disc issue. Got back in the gym yesterday did bench pressing and dips. Any tips on what exercises would be good to do, lat pull down, swimming, cycling etc....?

Probably walking as it's less stressful. I had terrible back pain and for weeks and once I had managed to get moving with a lunchtime walk it really eased it. Longer term cycling has kept weight down and, touch wood, the pain has not returned.

Much back pain can be sourced to the hamstrings, you may want to see about strengthening those.Do you pay as much attention to the posterior chain as you do the '
Mirror' muscles?

Swimming is always recommended for anyone with any sort of injury, because the water is taking most of your weight.

I'm no expert, but I'd guess at the gym, machines would be a better bet than free weights if you've got an injury.

Swimming probably about the best, very good exercise with little stress

Of course a physio will tell you it's muscle and keep taking your money.
Go and get a proper diagnosis from a medical professional who may suggest a mri scan if the problem persists.
If you do indeed have, like my self, a prolapsed disc then there are certain stretches you can do. I certainly wouldn't let anybody near you until you know for sure, good luck.

Most important thing to do is ensure your posture is solid. If it's out of kilter there are plenty of very informative YouTube videos on how to correct it, will include sorting out muscle imbalances etc.

Your physio will probably have you doing something similar though I'd have thought.

Totally agree with this, it may be nothing, but better to be safe than sorry mate.
