F.A. to have Wayne Rooney Testimonial Match

Pull our players out of the squad straight away.A none event surely if they wanted to raise money for granny Shagger's charity let him cycle across America or do something which actually takes a bit of effort and commitment on his behalf instead of playing 30 minutes of football, something he does daily. I suggest an American granny shagathon but please not televised

They don't work like that - remember the ultimately attention seeker Beckham calling a press conference to say he was donating a proportion of his salary to charity.
Like that ridiculous programme the Secret Millionaire ( misnomer if ever there was ).
Just give to charity if you want, instead of dangling it for recognition.
Agree totally with this. If they wanted to help charity they would do it without recognition. This way it is just "all about them."

+1

I think our english players could contribute something from their salary and pull out. The idea of testimonial match after retirement is so lame.

This being the best example of my posts, what has Hart got to do with it. People are offended because it is Rooney and played for United. Would it be ok if it was done for Hart too then? Agree with the rest of the post even if it is irrelevant to the actual thread.

Everyone can have an opinion, funny how it is all very negative ones though isn't it purely based on who he played for. I don't even really have one on this, it's all a bit meh for me but it certainly doesn't offend me as it does many on here.
My comment about Joe Hart went a little over your head didn't it. I could have said will any other player who has packed in international football be invited back but I didn't. You are too quick to jump on other people's posts yet get all aggy when in reverse. I couldn't give a shit if it was Rooney or John Terry - it's just plain wrong.

A friendly against USA, is that going to make or break someone's international career? It's a friendly ffs, a game where nobody will care about in the slightest. You stating you wouldn't be watching it anyway sums it up. It is a nothing game simple as that, doesn't offend me in the slightest if a player loses 45 minutes of playing time because they have had a purple patch this season and then never to be seen again.

What has that got to do with my original post about money grabbing bastards ? As I stated my main objection is the lie we are being told that the match is to generate money for Rooneys charity, It isn't. Why do you argue about side issues that I have clearly stated are just that. I object to the lies being told all to make Rooney seem relevant, keep him in the public eye and therefore make him more money. Both Rooney and the FA are money grabbing cynical whores but again that does not bother me, what does is when they lie to continue there money whoring exploits.

I hear they've started recruiting the cheerleaders in recognition of his achievements
