F1 thread - 2019 Season

Would braking have risked a spin?
It looked to me that any form of spin was quite likely to take both out.

Yes it would, applying any sort of force to the wheels on a low grip surface increases the possibility of losing the car completely.

Vettel momentarily lost the back end and was forced to take to the grass, he was not in control at that point and only regained control after he had rejoined the track. The track is very narrow which meant that Hamilton was unable to take advantage of Vettel's loss of momentum.

Racing incident, nothing more.

The Ferrari is clearly more difficult to drive than the Merc. The aero package is not as efficient meaning in any given set up there is less downforce.

Vettel drove very well over the entire weekend and deserved the victory.

Not true. The Mercedes is more chsllenging to drive as shown by Lewis sticking it in the wall on Friday and it's arse hanging out all weekend, but the offset is it makes it a faster car with more rewards.

Vettel in a Merc would have been in the wall half the races this season, such is his error-strewn nature. Damaged goods.

You are entitled to your opinion.

Okay I get it you're a Hamilton fan. I don't care who wins.

Vettel crossed the line first ergo he deserved to win. I disagree with the Stewards as did the ex drivers commentating on Sky.

Simple really.
I agree. The stewards spoilt what could have been a great race.

Well the right outcome was reached, Vettel was forced yet again into a mistake by Hamilton. I'm near certain he'd of took him on the track if Vettel wasn't penalised. Didn't need to in the end.

I must say I just watched Sebs racing wheel, he doesn't appear to have much control there coming off the grass for what it's worth
Which means he had too much throttle for the situation.
The old "I was completely out of control so therefore it must have a safe re entry to the track" defence. I am behind on the thread so it must have already been mentioned that Ferrari are set to appeal, if they haven't already. I can't imagine that they have a solid case.

I'm not saying it wasn't a penalty, I just think the narrative Seb deliberately squeezed him into the wall is a bit silly when you look at his cockpit camera

I'm also entitled to state the truth, which I have. You can ignore it at your loss as you please.
Thing is there are only 4 people in the world who knows what it feels like to drive those cars, Lewis, Seb, Charles and Valterri.
Even they don't know what their opposite numbers car feels like in a race
