So, Rotherham United at home in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup. It will be a pleasure to welcome The Millers to The Etihad. I've got a lot of time for Rotherham United. There's something Indy and off-the-wall about them for me. I've had dealings with them from my days as a representative of the Football Supporters Association back in the late 80s and they were a very amenable club, making their facilities available to us, not to mention their manager, a director and players for a terrific Q & A evening at their old ground Millmoor. A lovely club who I've seen play a few times over the years since the 1980s, twice when we've played them (a 1-1 draw in the 2001/2002) plus in the Football League Trophy last season and several other times with mates when City haven't been involved - at both Millmoor and the current swish ground The New York Stadium. I really admire their manager Paul Warne who turned a team who finished bottom of Division 2 (Championship) and got them straight back up through the play-offs - a great achievement to transform a losing mentality into a winning one and they are looking good to stay up, which would be an even bigger achievement. given their resources. Warne is a terrific man manager and gets the very best out of a squad of limited talent for the level it is at, and like Pep Guardiola he is a top bloke as well. He isn't known as Warniola for no reason. Looking forward to it.
