Glad shearer mentioned the stupid idea of some games having var and others not, it's totally ridiculous, and is different rules for differnt teams.
Absolutely. It either improves officiating or it doesn’t. If VAR does improve officiating, not having it for the majority of the matches in the comp, but having it for some of the games involving teams already heavily favoured, is disadvantaging already disadvantaged teams.

I thought it was a nailed on red, and when did the rules change to allow the 4th official to re-referee the game from the sidelines ? Isn't that a bit like having var ?
The fourth official can technically advise the referee at any time, especially if he sees something the referee does not.

The issue is in the PL they do fuck all during the match in that regard, apart from ocassionally saying they’ve been abused by playing or managing staff on the sidelines.

And that has gotten even worse in the era of VAR, which has also seen referees become more passive.

That fourth official looked a right jumped up little twat, he’ll fit in well in the Premier League

@cleavers Palmer calling out the VAR implementation inconsistency in his post-match interview as apparently Wrexham have watched his shot back (the one right after the obvious handball that was also ignored) and the ball looked to have crossed the line.

Other than telling the referee about things going on in the techinal area, I've never seen one do anything like that before to my knowledge, and even the bbc couldn't find a proper replay of the incident, so that we can see it.

It's the same muddled thinking that allows games in the same competition have different rules in different matches, and different "interpretations" of var which the paying fans don't ever get an explanation for.

The whole set of regulations has become so muddled now, nobody has a clue what's what.
