FA Cup 5th round draw - Huddersfield Town (Away)

In Round 3, 6 ties were selected for live coverage: Friday and Monday x 1, and Saturday and Sunday x 2.

In Round 4 there were 6 ties selected again but broadcast on Friday x 1, Sat x 2, and Sunday x 3.

I don't think it's certain that our tie will get televised. It's a good tie, but then many of them are potential giant-killers with Premiership clubs away from home. Huddersfield play on the Tuesday night so I doubt they'd be too keen on a Friday, but I think City would really like to play on the Friday night. Arsenal play before the FA Cup tie, so they are going to prefer the late slots.

If it is televised, I'd say Saturday is most likely.

Blackburn managed to put out a message almost straight away that they would be playing on Sunday so it sounds to me like a decision had already been made. How could they announce the KO would be on Sunday, unless it had been agreed by the FA, and surely they couldn't do that unless the KO for all the ties had been resolved. But then they do what they want without much regard for the consequences for the football clubs.
Given that the rags play Thursday night there was no way the FA would upset their darlings and make them play on the Friday or Saturday so it has to be the Sunday or Monday of there is a slot there

Its a fairly quick decision process for them. It can only be Sunday or Monday. If whichever broadcaster has the Monday slot decides that they dont want them in that slot then its straightforward to announce their game on Sunday.

The Rags also play on the following Wed so unlikely to be the Monday game.

If this game ends up on the Friday with us also playing Tuesday, don't expect any complaints from the club officially. Wagner and Hoyle have a bit more class than that, and our squad is probably the fittest in the championship with all the double training sessions and survival endurance training we did in the summer. Of course when Wagner came in, one or two players threw the toys out of the pram and were quickly shipped out (looking at you, Jimmy Vaughan!).

I expect you'll beat us, but we won't roll over regardless of when other games are. And once again regarding hooliganism, if you're looking for it you'll find it but if you're not a complete tool the worst you'll get is the odd shout of "are you Coventry in disguise?", mostly because as I said before it isn't 1983 and football has thankfully moved on despite the efforts of wankers too young to remember that bullshit the first time around.

Why its taking so long I've no idea, its only 8 bleeding matches! Surely they're not waiting for the Derby/Leicester replay??
