FA Cup Final - 3pm KO?

TV coverage on both ITV and BBC would go on from early morning with all sorts of special programmes. I was looking back at the 1st All Merseyside FAC final in 1986 To refresh my memory of how all of that was put across. It was all perceived as the friendly final - I’m sure many fans will dispute that though. Somehow I can't see red & blue mixing like this (watch 9 mins to 11ish) today nor do I see City & Utd fans help their rivals climb into the stadium either. You really do need to jump to about ten mins in to see the way they got into the stadium - all broadcast live on BBC too:

And just look at those bottom right trying to jib in. Rats

Understand that but they would never object to a 3.00pm ko which is when it should always be. All this fucking around with 4.30, 4.45, 5.15 etc

Well just because it’s yours ( and plenty of other peoples ) opinion that it ‘should’ be at 3pm, it doesn’t make it so.

Plenty of traditions that I’m sure made sense at the time, would be ridiculed if they were still in place now.

Television is king these days. Whether you like it or not I’m afraid. And one way of looking at it is we would probably never have been to Wembley these last 10 years if TV in this country wasn’t king.

The Final used to be prestige, 3pm KO and build up on both channels from 12pm, and an occasion, it went shite once the 5:30 KO arrived

Good to see it back at the proper time

Typical BBC rags name comes before City, also I noticed on the M E News site sports heading rags always first, coonts.
I've noticed the M.E.N. banner too, I assume it is driven by number of clicks. What's worse for me is when the broadcasters or the press show pictures of a cup we are the holders of draped in red ribbons. Also MOTD annoys me because at the end of the opening credits they make it look like the scousers in 2nd are more important, maybe I'm just looking for injustices against our club!
