FA Cup Semi Final draw - Brighton

Just gonna put it out there that this is my favourite post on Blue Moon ever.

"I'm not going for my own reason but the rest of you should be embarrassed for not going"

That's some accolade!

It is embarrassing, that we can't sell out a semi final. I'm frustrated around my own personal constraints and if I was a selfish tw*t, I'd go no problem. I simply don't believe that we don't have enough fans who could get to this game if they could be arsed to support their team, rather than sit in the pub watching on the telly. No criticism of many fans like me who would love to go given no constraints. Once my two boys are older and I can take them to games I wouldn't miss this for a second. No irony in the slightest, and if I'm honest, the selfish b*stard in me is still constantly nagging at me to get a ticket - especially given the p*ss poor support we are showing.

I repeat, 55,000 fans EVERY home game, I simply don't buy that there aren't enough fans without personal circumstances preventing them from going, to sell this match out. I think we have a large number of fans who are too apathetic and lazy to get out there and support the lads.

Last time half of our crowd didn't turn up we lost to Lyon, ger yer arses to Wembley you would if it was utd so no excuse bout it being at Wembley!!

I'm going but its City I'm going to watch..wouldnt matter to me if it was S****horpe or United we were playing.
Personally it doesn't matter how many we take ..yeah I know it's better if we sell out but even if we don't who really gives a fuck..apart from social media.

Haha, why do you give a shit what other people choose to do?! People aren’t obliged to go to every single game. With the ticket prices and lack of trains back after the game, I’m not surprised some people are giving it a swerve tbh.

I remember when Wigan used to charge us £25 and give us that whole end behind the goal, which we filled with about 5k. Then one season Whelan put the tickets up to £40 and we only took a third of that number. Next season it was back to £25.

Semi-finals at Wembley kicking off at 5:30 with a northern team involved and asking silly prices are ridiculous and the quicker the FA realise this the better. So I won't be in the least embarrassed to see loads of empty seats because that might help hammer the point home.
Agreed. Same thing happened when Birmingham hiked their prices just after we had both been promoted under Keegan I think. Always make me laugh when the likes of Bayern fans complain about away prices then but them sell out. The way to complain is probably not sell out and then explain that the reason why is because clubs or in this case the FA are ripping off the fans. If the press actually picked up on the fact that it is a complete rip off and the fans aren't earning fortunes then maybe, just maybe things will change over time.

You never know - it just might. Why? Well think back to the 2012-13 season when we were being charged £62 for Arsenal away and we didn't take up the full allocation. What started as little more than a piss-take of our support in the media when reporting the story morphed into something else which got picked up by the Football Supporters Federation and the Twentys Plenty campaign was launched which resulted in fan groups of all clubs coming together which further down the line a few years later led to a £30 cap being imposed on Premier League away tickets.

The weird thing about that Arsenal game though is that it was only because of the club's own hastiness in returning some of the tickets that led to us becoming the catalyst for cheaper PL away tickets. At the point that the unsold Arsenal tickets were sent back, there was still a week or so to go until the match but because it was just after Christmas the sales were a little sluggish, and I've little doubt that we would've sold out the full allocation anyway. However, it was reported as an organised boycott by City fans (which it wasn't - it was just down to individual choice) which wasn't a bad thing as it led to something more significant that travelling fans up and down the country could benefit from.

Fingers crossed it can be a catalyst, not only for cheaper tickets but for something to be done about broadcasters dictating kick off times with no consideration for fans.

O
It's not embarrasing, it's just what it is,
for some it's expense,
for some it's start of the Easter hilidays and as we were originally playing the rags and those people wouldn't get a ticket may have actually arranged holidays.
for some it's the peicipa that palying the semi at wembley is a joke,

For me it's none of them and I am going, but I don't begrudge anyone not going and if it is not full, I don't feel embarrased or sad about it.
