Just a thought (not a pastime I participate in too often)....

Between June 1981 and March 2011 (29 years, 9 months), we played at Wembley twice, IIRC (FMC '86 and the' 99 playoff final). Since March 2011 and the end of April 2021, we'll have played there 15 (?) times; 3 FA Cup finals, 6 FA Cup semi finals and 6 League Cup finals.

I didn't count Community Shields or league games against Spurs.

Remarkable times we're living through, lads and lasses.

Carry on. As you were.

*I may end up getting corrected on those figures, but they're what I came up with.*

sheffield win from chelsea and draw southampton in semi then thats easy final. id rather face united or preferably leicester in semi and then take on sheff or saints in final rather than give other ones a chance to spoil our quad in the final. but semi final comes at busier time than the final would. so cant decide which is better.

Draw Details

(Details below are copied from the FA's official website ... so 'we' is the FA ... and only ball nos. are edited to reflect the two games already played)

The draw for the Emirates FA Cup Semi Finals is to be held on Sunday Evening

The last draw of the 2020-21 Emirates FA Cup campaign will be held on Sunday 21 March, following a weekend of quarter-final action.

Fans will be able to see the semi-final draw made at half time of the tie between Leicester City and Manchester United, which is being screened live on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer in the UK.

Our quarter-final action kicks-off on Saturday with a south coast derby between AFC Bournemouth and Southampton, before Everton host Manchester City later in the day. Both of those ties will be shown live on BT Sport 1 in the UK.

And on Sunday, we'll start the day with Sheffield United's trip to play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge before the final tie at the King Power Stadium begins at 5pm GMT.

Semi Final Draw Numbers

1 - Everton or Manchester City
2 - AFC Bournemouth or Southampton
3 - Leicester City or Manchester United
4 - Chelsea or Sheffield United

Who do we want ...

None of that we want Manchester United in the Semi Final again so we can avenge the league defeat or we'll do them again nonsense ... that old saying asking for "lowest ranked team at home" is very much what is a needed here. OK, there isn't a Home or Away at this stage anymore as both Semi Finals will be at the Wembley Stadium ... but still the lowest ranked team please - the one poorest in form - distracted elsewhere (preferably in relegation battle or maybe in a tight top four race etc. but thoroughly distracted) is what is needed.

Why?

This is why ...

03/04 - Leicester City (A)

06/04 - Borussia Dortmund - CL QF (H)
10/04 - Leeds United (H)
14/04 - Borussia Dortmund - CL QF (A)

17/04 - FA Cup Semi Final (Wembley)
21/04 - Aston Villa (A) - Most likely date
25/04 - Spurs - Carabao Cup Final (Wembley)

28/04 - Bayern Munich or PSG - CL SF (A) - Should we progress in CL

Just look where this game comes in ... and because of that Semi Final, that Aston Villa (A) game that weekend gets postponed - to possibly a couple of days later that same mid-week (as that is the only possible slot for that) ... so yes, lowest ranked easiest possible draw please ... none of this oh we want United in Semi Final again ... sorry, but let Chelsea (or preferably Leicester itself) deal with them this time and I'd take Southampton (or Sheffield United) please.

Don’t forget the Rags have the mighty Granada on Thursday 15th April.

Playing semi finals at Wembley really has devalued the experience
