FA Cup SF Draw | Nott'm Forest | Sun 27 April 16:30 | ITV1

Debt. And time.

Are you really arguing that a Man Utd stadium of 100k has zero effect on the playing field? Why do you think Sheikh Mansour immediately invested in the infrastructure of MCFC?
It's been proven time and time again over the last few years,

The main income source for Clubs is TV money, Prize money, sponsorship and corporate.

What the average fan pays is a small proportion of revenue.

The Rags even now are having to push general ticket sales.,

If that **** Ratcliffe and those Glazers think they will sell 100,000 tickets at corporate rate prices they are in cuckoo land.

If it gets built!

A long way to go before it happens.

What a few people want and what they will get are completely different things.
Was just in barbers and this absolute joke of a rag was crowing how in this time in 5 years he will be sat in the new stadium and derby day will once again be Liverpool as city will be wherever it is in his fucking clueless head we will be.

Was reading a paper and did that sarcastic smirk and closed mouthed laugh. I wear sky blue gazelles so it was pretty clear to him I was laughing at him.

Horrible twat.

I was asked to prove that my assertion that most City fans don't live in Manchester. The work I cited does so for the year 2001. In short, in that year the majority of City season ticket holders had none Manchester postal codes.
Actually you said Greater Manchester but even that’s just arbitrary boundaries. The fact is most live in the NW (probably GM still imo) and get screwed financially every time we get forced to travel to Wembley when it doesn’t need to be that way any more.

If they’d chosen 3pm for the kick off it would help but no, they choose a later time so that there’s only Euston trains possible that can get us back to the NW before the network shuts down. Other train routes are off the table.

No, your assertion was that most season ticket holders don’t live in GREATER Manchester.

Living in Greater Manchester and having a Manchester postcode are two completely different things.

Ha ha 5 years,

It's taking a year to replace a fucking roundabout in Stockport :-)

Has he seen the size of the Freightliner terminal in Trafford Park that needs moving before this nonsense can begin.

He was older than me and I’m bordering on the FOC status. He will be brown bread by the time they even break ground.

Every FA Cup semi-final there are discussions on where the final is played. I'll stop commenting on this now but to conclude once their stadium plan comes on the agenda, City are presented with a number of strategic responses, one legitimate response would be to own that stadium and destroy any local competitive advantage. It's a legitimate thought / response.
I get what you're talking about about. However ground sharing here would be something both sets of fans would disagree with - especially if it was called Old Trafford, but I'm sure there will be naming rights involved if it gets built as there's far too much money involved. Does anyone in England actually ground share?

The data shows that 6678 of 16481 Manchester City season ticket holders had M post codes in 2001, it follows that a lower proportion lived in city of Manchester.

I would argue that by 2025, the proportion has likely fallen further hence the no. of locals who come to the games in midweek.

The "work" was when we had 16k season ticket holder a quarter if a centaury ago and excludes OL6's a couple of miles from the current stadium but includes Westhoughton in M46.

Not intentionally from memory. There’s been instances where it’s forced, like Coventry sharing with Northampton.

Every fan knows their own club has its identity. That is stripped as soon as you start ground sharing. It’s a pathetic idea, one which im glad will never happen

It's not going to happen but given a choice between:
  1. A 100,000 Old Trafford and 62,000 Etihad, and
  2. A single jointly used stadium
I'd seriously consider a joint stadium simply to destroy the competitive advantage which they might enjoy. The best solution is an option 3. where City further expand the Etihad.

Reminds me of Lou Grade after the massive overspend on his film “Raise The Titanic”.
“It would have been cheaper to have lowered the Atlantic.”

Inter and AC Milan share a stadium. Did the identity of City fans change when we moved from Maine Rd to COMs?

It's different. I know it's not ideal. I was referencing it as a way of destroying any competitive advantage that they would gain in owning a 100k stadium. And remember that there would have been huge advantages to us over other clubs. You don't have to worry though as it's not happening. At least I gave you something to vent about on Derby day morning.

Wembley can sell 20k Level Two seats, that's the capacity of the neighbouring Brentford's stadium. It's a game-changer just as moving from Maine Rd to the Etihad was for City.

We're moving into a world of super clubs whether you like it or not.

Time to bring out the old chant (sung to the tune of Land of Hope and Glory):
"We hate Nottingham Forest
We hate Liverpool too.
We hate man United
But City we love you"

And we are never going to ground share with those rag cunts..
FFS we have just spent £300 m on developing our ground..why do that to share with the rags at The swamp.. because their new stadium won't get built unless the Government pay for ut
