Can’t stay in Manchester when I travel for games for much less than £120 these days, even Rochdale Premier inn for the Bayern game was £95. No such thing as cheap City centre hotels these days.

That’s not true , we booked the travelodge at Ancoats for £33 , booked it as soon as the draw was made . As long as you book early you can usually pick up a bargain . If in doubt on the date make 2 separate bookings with a free cancellation.

Was true when I looked which was after I’d got the tickets last Friday. May well not have been true when the draw was made. Think I’ll look now for the Chelsea game though.

Book as far in advance as you can , Stockport premier inn or travelodge usually not to bad prices .
Premier Inn Denton is only £67 at the moment for the night of the Bayern game , easy to get to and not too far from the stadium either , depends what you’re looking for . We just look for somewhere easy to get to and not too far from the ground .

Just give it until Saturday, you’ll have a pot of coins and cash with half of that thrown at your head… Still the FA will turn a blind eye and skyrocket London hostel prices instead :)

£ 213.00 to stop at the Premier Inn next to Wembley on the Saturday night. Not the Hilton, a bloody Premier Inn.

Point taken although I allow an hour back to Euston although done it in 40 previously but that included running most of the way to the station after the game and it's two hours to Stockport. I have heard of people not getting back until after 1.00am whilst I have been home circa 10.30 but I am sure it's swings and roundabouts. Did you know though that you could get a Megabus for £20 and apparently the M1 is open all night.

i'd lay bets now some section of M1 or M6 closed for maintenance

Best place to stay is Travel lodge Ashton next to snipe retail park and the Sheldon arms,good grub and beer.Also tram stop outside for the stadium.

Who have I insulted ? What do you mean specifically by your bookings question ?

You suggest people take the coach. I'm wondering how it can be booked....
A coach operator has to provide 2 drivers. If its a 12.30 kick off he won't be able to take bookings for Friday night or Sunday morning for a 5.30 (drivers hours)
If he is not careful he loses money from not taking a booking on a Friday or a Sunday.
