We play Birmingham in the third round of the FA Youth Cup tonight. We`re the reigning champions in this competition after finally beating Chelsea last season. Lots of the EDS players are eligible for this game, e.g: Trafford, Egan-Riley, Burns, Mbete, Callum Doyle, Lavia, McAtee, Edozie and Delap. The likes of T.Doyle, Gomes, Bernabe, Palmer and Nmecha is not eligible anymore. The U18s are top of the table as well, don`t really know what team to expect.
Either way, 2 players to look out for is Alex Robertson and Carlos Borges. Robertson is a very gifted box-to-box midfielder. Good both defensively and offensively, and truly a set-piece specialist. 7 goals in 7 appearances for the U18s as a midfielder. Carlos Borges (still only 16) looks like the biggest star in the U18s for me. Leroy/Kyle-esque pace, very powerful and strong and a brilliant crosser. Reminds me a lot of Sane/Adama hybrid (but with a brain). 6 goals and 10 assists in 13 this season. Tai Sodje is another one to look out for with 17 goals and 4 assists (if Delap doesn`t start)
The game will be on City+, but only for UK watchers. However, Birmingham is streaming the game for free on their Facebook page (which everyone can watch), I will post the stream later tonight
